Rhlannon's Page

My name, at least for the purposes of this page, is a combination of the names "Rhiannon" and "Rhlanna". One means witch, and the other means dark or black-haired. Considering that I am both, I think the name describes at least one facet of me.
I chose this picture of Death, from the Sandman tarot card deck, because I find it to be a very beautiful picture. I also agree with Neil Gaiman that Death is not some horrid creature who goes about striking people dead, but is merely a person, much like you or me, who doesn't really enjoy her job, but does it because it IS her job. She could be your sister, and I find it somewhat comforting that at the end, it might be her face, and not the cold impersonal skull of the classical death that guides me on to my final destination.
