The meaning of Spiral Bound:
A lot of people use spiral bound notebooks. They open flat and in most cases are cheaper than non-spiral bound notebooks. This spiral makes writing with your left hand impossible if you try to follow the rules and write on the page with the holes on the left side. South paws are bound by the spirals that give them bad penmanship or incorrect page usage. Grace writes all her songs in legal pads to prevent that problem and since they're longer you can fit more on a page.
