News: 02/16/00
Yes uh huh. The 7" has been pressed into CDEp's featuring a special track, Gilbert Road. Out on Artful Dodger Records, please don't dawdle if you want a copy because there are a very limited number of these. Tanks. Also our patches, brand new stickers (how dreadfully ironic) 7"s and tapes are still available if you want them.
3/6/00 - Six Ways is starting the recording of our 7 song CD which is still to be named. We can expect a release date of sometime in early summer. Anyone who wants more info can contact us through email. Thanks.
2/16/00 - I took down the guestbook. If you want to reach us email brendan at sixways11@aol.com, pat at mmmsteaky@aol.com, or Jer at Mickeysim@aol.com. Or of course sixwaysfromsun@hotmail.com. Thanks.
2/11/00 Sorry for the massive delay in updating. We are all doing marvelously in our new projects and hope to be back in arms of CT's youth very soon. I have a new favorite band. Belle and Sebastian. Sooo good. Um, thanks for coming to our last show. Brass City caught fire and Walt was hurt but everything is fine now. Please drop him a line or go to a show cause they're fun. The CDep of the 7" + is done. Plus our better late than never new stickers are done and availble. I saw American Beauty and it was fantastic. A+. Oh yeah, and thanks to the fine young man who signs our guestbook with such angry sentiments. You really fill me with pity sir. Go on and kiss a good man's ass. For the rest of you, hugs and kisses.
The last show was fantastic. Thanks to everyonoe who came out. We really appreciate it. It's too bad the best show is frequently the last though. We all look forward to seeing you again in new and interesting ways. SWFS is probably going to record the songs from the better part of two year and release them soon. The CD may come out on my record label Artful Dodger Records. We have new stickers and are looking to get rid of them! If you would like some free stickers please mail us a Self addressed stamped envelope to Six Ways From SUnday * 23 Cherrywood Dr. * Ellington, CT. 06029. We will reply promptly. Thanks a lot for your support and I hope you've had as much fun as we did. Keep on a rockin.... brendan, jeremy, pat.
The last show will be at Brass City Records on Thursday December 30th at 7:00. Endless Mike and Snotty Fox will be there as well.
12/12/99 Hello everyone. I'm sorry that this update has to be a sad one but that's the way it goes. After almost three years of playing together, we're breaking up. It was really fun but unfortunately the strain of this band took it's toll on our friendships. I thought that when I read basically the same update in a favorite band of mine's web site, i thought it was kind of lame and self-important but hey, it's the truth. Remaining friends through the trials and tribulations is difficult, and it shouldn't have to be that way. We'd like to thank Nick Rice, Carl White, Jeremy Kehoe, Ben Dominguez, Adam Charbonneau, Andy DaRos, Walt at Brass City, Matt Yannerella, Jack, Cindy, Jeff, the rest of the Waterbury crew, and everyone who came and watched. We will be playing our last show hopefully at brass city sometime in January. We would be delighted if you'd join us there. More information on that show will follow. As for our tour, we will be playing a portion of it close to home so I'll keep this site updated. So it goes. Merry Christmas and happy holiday's.
11/11/99 Hey there. So here's the news. We're touring in January. The entire East coast and part of in land Americana. It will be grand. We also have a couple new releases making their way onto the horizon. Actually we have three upcoming but only two are confirmed. We will be releasing a split CDep with The Pocket Knife Gang (R.I.P) on Triforce Records. That is probably going to be coming out in Spring of 2000. Also, we are planning to do another 7" with New Clear records from texas. All new material! And the unconfirmed, distant plan is a split 7" with our pals Endless Mike. We will see. Also our new stickers are almost done! bye bye
10/23/99 We're in the process of making some new shirts but that'll be awhile. More importantly, we are repressing the 7" songs onto CDep including a special unreleased tune called Gilbert Road. Please check that out next time we hit your town, or you can check back on the site for info.
10/18/99 In addition to the radio stations listed below, we are also being played on WUSR 99.5 FM out of Scranton PA, and WCLH 90.7 out of Wilkes Barre PA. YAY!
10/18/99 We've got a tentative schedule for our tour in January 2000. Unfortunately we're not going to be hitting the midwest but spending our time on the east coast. We will be stopping in NYC, D.C., Philly, Atlanta GA, Gainsville FL, Tampa FL, Rochester NY, Plattsburgh NY, Boston MA, and Providence RI, plus more. So if you live near any of the those cities/states then check around for posters and you might see our ugly mugs.
Well folks, we're currently being played on another radio station. WSKB 89.5 out of Westfield Mass. If you live up near there tune in and give a listen ok? Thanks! We're also on WHUS at UConn, WECS at Eastern CT State U, and WKSF out of Berekely California.
10/4/99 - Greetings! We're back from PA and finally have some time off. We've got two weeks before our next show in Willimantic at the Inertia Festival. We have brand new patches, white ink on blue or black, and black ink on white. Two styles, the hexatangle and the six ways name block. We played with some awesome bands lately and have just been living it up. This is hush hush but we're releasing Liverpool and Garrison on a CD. This is going to be very short run. We're sending most of them to our booking agent for the tour booking but we will have maybe 20 left over. Rock on!! Come see us and go to every brass city show you can!!
9/23/99 - Almost a month later I'm back at it. Sorry! Anyway, we have begun our preperations for out tour next January. It'll be the first tour of the Millenium! Woo hoo!!!!!! Our schedule is probably going to take us down the East Coast then up to Chicago/Milwaukee and then east through the midwest and then home. Thirty dates, much fun, please come and see us. We're also playing a ton of shows in this area over the next few months. We've got dates all over the North East and five or so local to CT so no excuses! Ha ha. We've had to put off the notion of recording since I looked in my bank acount and realized that I got no dough! No bread, no greenbacks! So we're gonna tour and play and have fun until Mrs. Havisham can come up with the scratch. A reminder that we do have T Shirts available now and they are displayed in the "Purchaseables" page. Anyway, please email us cause we like it and SIGN THE GUESTBOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8/25/99 - We went to Braid's last show in Urbana, Illinois. it was very moving. They were incredible and it was just the best/saddest event I've been to so far in the Indie music world. They played for an hour and 20 min ( I think). They played lots of obscure Braid songs. At one point the Drummer Damon left the set and their old drummer Roy Ewing played three songs. It was rad. Anyway, everyone wish them luck. Check our Bob Nanna's new band "City on Film" and also Todd Bell's record label "Grand Theft Autumn".
8/13/99 - Well, it has been a whole month since my last report so I'll make it count. Our T Shirts are done and available. They're pretty cool. We played a show in upstate NY in Plattsburgh that was wicked fun. We played with four hardcore/death metal bands. They asked us if we get beat up a lot. That was awesome. We were well received though so it's all good. A fat man hugged me and said I was really sincere so I guess that's a good thing. Braid's last shows are this next weekend so everyone within driving distance please go. They'll be playing long sets and talking and stuff so that'll be nice. We saw At The Drive in in Boston last weekend. Amazing yet again. We may be playing with ATDI and The Get up Kids in October so please GO TO THAT. I just hope ATDI plays last cause they have such and incredible live performance that they would absolutely BLOW the get up kids off the stage. I feel sorry for anyone that plays after them[atdi]. Uh, we're getting some new stickers. Some rear window clear vinyl thingies that'll rock. We are planning on recording either a full length CD or an EP very soon. Above and beyond that, we're moving along. We're looking for rentable practice space somewhere in our area if anyone has suggestions. Anyway, bye bye!
7/10/99 - Hi there everyone. We're back from the Midwest and we had a great time. We played some shows met some real cool people. We played with and Indiana band called the Pocket Knife Gang. Our new best friends. They were so nice, and they rocked! Anyway, we're gonna have pictures from that as well as a tour diary thingie which is gonna be funny.
7/10/99 - The t-shirts are done and available!
7/4/99 - Happy Independence day! We're leaving for the Midwest tomorrow morning so wish us luck. Each of us has a mission statement for the trip. My statement is that I promise not to go insane, Jer's is to buy a woman's dress for under $5 and wear it at a show, Pat's is to carry on at least one conversation with a bum about something other than money, Carl (our good friend and drum tech-ish wizard of the beats) doesn't have one yet but he's working on it, and Nick who does our artwork and sells our wares, decided to catch, de-bone, skin and cook a fish, then eat it. Oh well, bye bye for now.
6/29/99 - Anyone who is interested in playing the next Ellington American Legion show ( tentatively scheduled for July 30th) should send us a tape or write and email about your band and stuff. We're very laid back but spots are limited. We have openings for three bands right now so don't dally!!! These shows are usually fun so try to contact us.
6/29/99 - Hey there everyone! Our T shirts are almost done and we will have them for sale by Monday, July 5th. They're $8 and are available through our Merchandise page.
6/19/99 - I just got back from a show at Brass City. Much fun was had. Six Ways' tour is a bust! It's the biggest, shittiest thing to happen to us thus far. Many places cancelled the shows at the last minute and the booking did not go well. We will however be going on a mini east coast tour thing this August. It's in like 4 days but it gives us a chance to get the hell out of dodge for awhile. Stops will be in New Jersey, Baltimore MD, Philadelphia PA, and NYC NY. So keep your eyes open. We will begin working on a full length CD this summer. Our tentative recording date for that is sometime in October. With the CD coming out in November or December, we will be booking (for real this time, no fucking around) a east coast/Midwest tour. So if anyone out there can help us, that would be great. Anyway, I'm going to bed. Nighty night.
5/31/99 - Well we have sad news to report. Our new "friends" and one of the best bands we've ever experienced, Braid, has officially called it quits. As of August they will be breaking up. They will release a three song 7" of their new songs and then the Movie Music 2 CD comp of all the unreleased tunes. So every one say thanks to them for being such nice guys and such a great band. Good luck Chris, Bob, Todd, and Damon.
5/29/99 - Sorry, it has been a long time since an update. We are still booking the tour and we have around 11 out of 18 dates set. We're still trying to get something in Burlington, VT., Dayton, OH., and Upstate NY. If anyone can be of assistance, we would be delighted. We'll have new T-Shirts made for this tour as well as TriForce shirts too. Buenos Noches.
If anyone out there has a good idea of what kind of air freshener we should use in our new, and stinky van, then let us know.
5/11/99 - Apparently we have broken onto "the charts". CMJ music charts has listed us as #30 out of a possible 30 for college radio airplay. I don't see how but we're not complaining.
5/10/99 - Our tour booking is moving along. We will be leaving on June 28th for Pittsburgh. But there may be a stop between here and Pitts cause that's a long drive. Anyway, we're tentatively scheduled to stop in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Bloomington (IN), Chicago, Milwaukee, Valaparaiso (IN), Boston, Providence. We'll keep you posted on the particulars.
5/6/99-We played a live radio broadcast May 3rd on WECS out of Eastern CT State University. It was fun! We played four songs and did a little interview. We may be releasing the show as a 7" sometime in the future but don't hold your breath cause there's no way to tell how long it will be.
5/4/99-We've been getting some radio play as of late. Our 7" and tape have been playing on Eastern Connecticut State University's WECS 90.1. Our tape has been played on WHUS out of UConn, and also from Trinity College's school radio.
5/1/99-We have scattered shows right up to the tour so come check us out.
4/23/99-When we return home, we'll be in the studio recording a full length CD, due out hopefully in late summer early fall. But who does know really?
We are signed up with TriForce Records now. They are from Indiana and the whole process has really been fun. The two Ryans are so very easy to work with.
TriForce is booking our tour this June. We will be leaving at the end of June for three weeks. The tour will take us all the way out to sunny(?) Wisconsin. With stops in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illi-noise, Wisconsin, Canada(??), NY, Mass, and RI, it's sure to be a fun filled jaunt into America's midsection.
As explained above, the 7" is done. Check it out cause it's fun and blue!
So I hope everyone enjoys the look "o" the web page. Please check out Jer's little side page in which he spends most of his time insulting me!
Please sign the guestbook!
