Steeler was formed in the early eighties by Yngwie Malmsteen (LEAD GUITAR), Mark Edwards (drums), Rik Fox (Bass, backing vocals), and Ron Keel (vocals, guitar). At the time Yngwie was only 19 years old and had just come to the United States. As you may be able to tell, if you have heard the album, the only redeeming quality is the amazing guitar work of the Swedish Shredder, Yngwie. This album was put out on Shrapnel Records, an instrumental virtuoso label which was king of the eighties, in 1983. Shrapnel is still foremost in the virtuoso department even though the market has slumped (ala the mostly shitty guitar present in today's modern rock). The songs on the album include "Cold Day In Hell", "Backseat Driver", "No Way Out", "Hot on Your Heels", "Abduction", "On the Rox", "Down to the Wire", "Born to Rock", and "Serenade". One last bit of information, Ron Keel has since abandoned his metal roots and become "Flat-top Ronny Keel" a country singer.
