The SuperDiesel experience has been called everything from Southern Chug, to River Rock, to Goatrock, but really the band is best described as wannabe blues-rockers playing the same three pussy-ass chords. Part of the critically acclaimed Louisville, KY underground (under various different bandnames and lineups) for years, the band was raised on everything from Nashville good old boy country to L.A. pretty boy glam. The result is documented here.
The band member's formidable years were spent growing up in a dying rivertown. Donnie and John founded the seminal punk band The 'Hoods in 1987. This short lived band self-destructed, but not before writing such classics as "Fuck This Shit", which perfectly portrays the frustrations of a generation. The two resurfaced together in the dark and depressed progressive rock group, Eight Lives Gone. Phil raised in Texas, in a small predominately Mexican town, and in south-central Louisville, learned his street smarts at an early age. When he hooked up with his boyhood boxing buddy Eddie K. to form Numfinger, southern grunge was born. After Eddie left the band to join Godhead, now known as the Cornbread Mafia, the band stalled. Phil's best friend and fellow trucker Mike took over the drumming duties. Steve C., a.k.a. The Claw, also of the Cornbread Mafia, was instrumental in bringing Phil, Mikey, John, and Donnie together along with guitarist Phil C. However, after Phil C. was faced with a six month jail sentence, he left the band. After searching in vain for another guitarist, in from the nearest liquor store walked Gary. Hired by Mikey before the rest of the band even met him he was the final cog in the SuperDiesel engine. Gary had played for years in country and southern-rock bands such as Freeone, Roadnoize, Justus, and Ruff Cutt. The lineup was set, and the rest is SuperDiesel history.
SuperDiesel's high octane performance is best experienced live but now can be experienced worldwide on the web. And remember, no matter where you are, we sound better when you're drinking (and hopefully look better too). Thank you for visiting our homepage and remember for the latest breaking information on the band, visit our News page.
This web site is dedicated to the memory of Chubs. Still rockin' with Super-D, but from a better place now.
