Moist is a very flexible band when it comes to music. Their variety opens many doors for differing fans to come together. They can go from power rock to power pop, and still make it work. If you like and band that isn't afraid of experimenting, taking risks, and evolving their sound, then you'll love MOIST.

Moist's debut record, Sliver, contains all the raw emotion and strength that is behind the band. This album includes the hit, "Push." This is the song that lauched the band's carrer, much like "Shine" for Collective Soul, "Plush" for STP, and "Tomorrow" for Silverchair. "Push" will be one single that will follow the band around forever because it's that good. If you like rockin debut records like Live's Mental Jewelery, Our Lady Peace's Naveed, and Collective Soul's Hint..., then you'll love Silver

Moist got real riff oriented on their follow up, Creature, and still managed to rip out some amazing lyrics. The album manages to pick up the pace like Live's Throwing Copper, and Collective Soul's self titled album. Tracks like Tangerine involve rock riffs mixing with cellos, and Shotgun's quick lyrics, show off much originality. The tremendous ups and downs of the album, resemble that of a rollercoaster ride; it starts off slow ("Hate"), speeds up and down throughout, then hits you with one last punch ("Ophelia") before slowing down to a complete stop ("Gasoline").

With their 3rd [Mercedes Five And Dime] and most influential album yet. Moist tends to come off as a modern Pink Floyd. Moist bring on the pop a little, but only to a Dishwalla type level; with little phycedelic riffs mixing with John Lennon-esque piano's, this album is far from being categorized as pop music. If you like songs such as Live's "Lightning Crashes," then you'll love the hit single "Breathe." This album has potential to win Grammy awards if the acacdemy would just give it a listen! Mercedes Five and Dime is just one of many experimental albums I've heard this year. If you like Silverchair's Neon Ballroom, Our Lady Peace's Happiness..., and yes even Live's The Distance to Here, then I highly recommend trying out Mercedes...

In short, if you like rock-n-roll bands, with true talent and determination, then Moist is one rock band that should not go unnoticed.
