Desert Trash Blast 2 @ Hollywood Alley Mesa, AZ |
The Desert Trash Blast is an annual festival founded by Jeff Dahl, solo artist for Triple X Records. Most people remember Jeff with the Angry Samoans if they remember him at all... God bless him, he put together this nice little bash last winter, had it booked at Nita's Hideaway, and it was the first Desert Trash Blast. The Golden Arms flew in from Japan to play this gig, as well as the Kevin K Band from New York City... Trash Brats from Detroit... The US Bombs headlined the whole shebang so every mohican crusty punk with a fake ID showed up last year. This year it was held at Hollywood Alley, a larger club, so it didn't seem nearly as packed although the spirit of the Iggy Stooge hovered over the fest this year. The headliner was Deniz Tek, from the legendary Aussie band, Radio Birdman. Other bands included the Leaving Trains, Beat Angels, Texas Terri & the Stiff Ones, the Trash Idols, and the Trash Brats returned for the fest as well. Most of the bands this year seemed to have a Stooges sound. Fewer Johnny Thunders licks this time around... Fewer punk rock kids... It was different from Part 1 but even still, both years were unique and memorable, and here are some pics for your enjoyment. |

Texas Terri doing her crowd baiting. There's something sexual about her that I can't describe. A tattoed gutter girl falling all over the place. I got a boner every time she was within ten feet of me. No joke! |

All photos taken by Jay Smith. I really don't give a shit if you reproduce these photos or not. However, I published them without permission. All bands are basically cool people too. I doubt if they give a shit either. Besides they probably can't afford lawyers anyway. If you appear in any of these photos and want them removed, I will do so upon request. Please support the scene by visiting their web sites, buying their records, and attending their shows. |
