BORN!
The origin of the Smooth
Room legend can be traced back as far as 1989 where it
started in a laundry room which I equipped with a small
television and second hand sofa. It was given the title by
a wise man named Leo by whom I was employed at the time.
Leo was of Austrian descent and spoke with a heavy accent.
After describing my "improvement" to the laundry room Leo
declared it to be a "smooth room". Myself and several
others who were fortunate enough to be present on that
historic day looked at Leo puzzled. Reading the looks on
our faces he added in a thick accent, "You know,
smooooooooth!" It just stuck.
