a website dedicated to the famous hong kong disco in the 80's which played the best dance music ever - EUROBEAT
Hollywood east started in hong kong around 1983 and mostly played songs from european labels like ZYX,Discomagic,Max music,Blanco y negro,Time, and many more.The best distributor of eurobeat in asia is VMP international ,based in singapore with branches in hong kong and in my country malaysia,known as VALENTINE SOUND PRODUCTIONS(VSP).Eurobeat is also known as italodisco,hi energy or eurodisco.But i will stick to the term eurobeat because this is the term used to describe the music in the hollywood east releases in the 80's.No other music can be hard and "soft" at the same time.It's like eurobeat has hard beats,but the whole music is "softened" by adding melodies that give the impression of sadness,happiness,hope and "magic" like those sounds you hear in movies when the wizard waves his magic wand.
Here is the story of eurobeat told by me,a complete fanatic who lives by this music.I created this page to share my observations,opinions and most importantly the music with anyone who loves 80's eurobeat as i know there are not many of us around,who still stands by this music wholeheartedly eventhough it is deemed no longer fashionable.Also i want to share my feelings,thoughts,experiences..etc about 80's eurobeat.So read on and enjoy!
