When he first arrived at the World Wrestling Federation he was the Undertaker's keeper and wrestling manager. Soon after, he turned on the Undertaker, ploting to destroy his step-son. He joined with Mankind and later on, the Undertaker's own brother, and Paul's son, Kane.

After what was a lenghty rivalry, Undertaker returned to the dark side.

And Paul Bearer, happy with Taker's decision, joined with his former rival and the two soon founded the Ministry of Darkness.
