Lizard
Your smooth skin
And mysterious walk
Your silent forked tongue
Never seems to talk
You're misunderstood
To all you see
Yet someone understands
And that someone is me

I know all
Your misinterpreted ways
And i don't blame you
For your worse days
I know your body
And your mind, too
I understand this
Because I believe I'm you
If you must
Sacrifice me if you must
Just remember that it was I
Who never really seemed to care
If I lived or died
For death isn't that which brings the pain
Pain exists when you're alive
Death brings you the relief that you
No longer must survive

Just remember who I am
I'm the one that helped you find your wings
I always told you that you can
I helped you fly and be free
I'm the one who understood
I knew that freedom was so vital
And know it sometimes doesn't feel so good

Just remember what I say
It certainly doesn't matter
I wasn't important anyway
I am the one you search for
Even though you don't understand
My reality isn't yours
Mine can never be your land

No one seems to know
No one seems to care
No one understands
No one wants to bare

They seem to be afraid
To find out who is me
For I am always changing
Like the unstable sea

They see that I am different
And quickly run away
They need not see anymore
Of what I am today

Cause I'm a paradox
A puzzle, if you will
I'm always stuck in one place
Yet I'm rarely standing still

I'm not gonna change
I refuse to be denied
The chance to live the kind of life
That I have just implied

I would rather be ignorant
Than know what's going on
I'd rather be a weakling
I don't wish to be strong
I would rather be an idiot
Than be smart as hell
I would rather always fail
Than sometimes do it well

When you're ignorant, you're happy
When you're weak, you're strong
When you're stupid you don't know
When you're doing it wrong
