I'm Emrys and this page is devoted entirely to me, ooh the thrill of it all! The best place to start is, well, the beginning!
While still studying my A-levels, i started to get very interested in music, however being completely useless at it during my school career, i found myself concentrating on writing lyrics! My A-levels finished and i had accumulated a large volume of work, no music, just words.
As the months past, i found myself desperate for a guitar, and so at christmas 1996, i got my first guitar, a cheap catalogue acoustic, but i learnt from books and slowly my sights were set higher. Just before i attended University, i bought my first electric guitar and amp, Fender guitar and Marshall amp.
It was at this time i met Bexley, introduced to me through my father of all people! Slowly we became good friends, and at about the same time, in the middle of 1998, we both decided to start bands! Though at the time we never considered working together, as we both thought i wasn't good enough, that changed when he heard me play!
By the beginning of 1999 all the members of Amberleaf were together, it helped alot that we were also friends, as it seemed almost natural to form a band! Though drastically short of essential items, like a drumkit, we pushed on regardless, eventually we got a place to rehearse and a drumkit and few other odds and ends.
We've been rehearsing ever since and, despite a recent setback, we should be close to performing live real soon. I personally can't wait to perform as an entire band, Bexley and I have performed on the odd occasion at the Windsor Arts Centre, but we only performed acoustically, but it was fun!
While waiting around for the band to get going, i've started writing solo material, to be performed acousticly! I must admit i was inspired by ex-wonderstuff frontman, Miles Hunt, who has gone solo. So unfortuanately for the public, i'll be everywhere!
