"Putting the Cunt in Country"
Man, I thought recycling was a good thing. Then came Load and Reload. Using once cherished phrases such as "fade to black" (The Memory Remains), "off to never never land (King Nothing), "what I've felt, what I've known (Unforgiven 2)," and saying BETTER THAN YOU!! (Remember Holier Than Thou?) They finally put out some songs that are "commercially viable" and traded their once disheveled, fuck you look, to the more photogenic, suave, business only look. "If there isn't money involved in it, why bother? Music is about selling records, not the fans. Right?" What ever happend to those interviews where they poseur bashed left and right? I remember when they said stuff like "we don't need MTV or the radio to sell records. People will buy our music because it's good, not because it gets a lot of airlplay." How the fuck are they selling records now?!? By starring on MTV, Saturday Night Live, stupid radio stations and so on and so forth. The once mighty metal gods have committed deicide and become conformists. You know that once they stop printing all their lyrics they suck because they no longer have anything meaningful to say. There is a song on Reload where James shouts "Hey, ma!! Look, it's me!!" I don't know if they're doing it on their own, or for the money, all I know is that it sucks.
By the way, if you see Reload and Load in the "metal" section, please move these items into the "pop-rock" section, the "easy listening" section, or better yet, the "country" section.
