This album is great. It features disgusting vocals, aggressive hate filled riffs, superb songwriting, symphonic synths and excellent drums. Just about all the lyrics have a very evil slant to them. The best songs are "Soul Possesed," "Return of the Night Creature," and "What Malice Embrace." The guitar sound is kind of blurry, distorted but not so overwhemling that you miss the bass and the synth. These guys have an excellent combination of melody, heaviness and atmosphere. This is the embodiement of hatred and disgust.

Old Man's Child returns without any of their former members except Galder. I wonder how Galder met Gene Hogland. Norwegian black metaler looking for Canadian death metal drummer. Anyway, Old Man's Child has brought another offering of hatred. The lyrics just keep getting more and more evil. He screams "I am the anti-christ" and "I am the anti-life" but what's cool about it is that the pan alternates making it sound like he's coming from a different side each time. This album has more melody and heaviness than the Pagan Prosperity. It seems like Galder is becoming more thoughtful with each passing album.
A weird thing about this album is that every track's timing is a little bit off. The beginning of the second song is at the very end of the first song. The beginning of the eighth song is at the very end of the seventh track and so on and so forth. (This could just be my copy, I've not heard of this problem with anyone else's cd.) Another weird thing is that on the back cover it says "the vocals on this album was all improvised while recording (not pre-rehearsed). This suggests Galder wasn't fully ready to make this album. Ah well. All the lyrics are about Satan and evil and other naughty things. It's not like an extreme amount of thinking was involved.
The best songs on here are "God of Impiety," "Captives of Humanity," "Thy Servant," and "Towards Eternity."
These are the most atmospheric, heavy, melodic songs on the album.
