The plectrum I got from Billie. He played with it !!
We have been standing outside the fence ot the Backstage area for nearly 2 hours, and we have been interviewed by the local radio station. Both things due to our (some would say mad) love to Green Day ! The clock is 6:55pm and we're standing in front of the stage Green Day will enter in almost 2 hours. We can't wait !! We are: My friends and I ! At 8:50pm, 5 minuttes delayed, the porn-like song that kicks off all Green Day shows, started !!! We didn't know what to expect ! And we got it (!?!).
The three guys, Mike, Billie and Tre jumped on stage, and started the show with Nice Guys Finish Last. The audience went crazy, and during the first song, 4 girls fainted, and was carried to safety, by security guys ! Hitchin' a Ride was second, and Billie invited the audience to sing along !! The energi, both onstage and in the crowd, was totally amazing !!! Third off was Long View, and Billie made a short cover of Marilyn Manson's horrible song, "The Beautiful People", wearing a devil's mask. Pretty damn funny ! After the song, Billie stood on top of the monitor, and made people say "HEEE, OHHH" and wave their hands from one side to another !! Then he stood for 10-15 seconds, without saying anything, just looking real stoned ! Me and my friend took this as an invitation to make him play our request, and started yelling "J.A.R !! Play JAR !!" !! But Billie just went into Brain Stew and faded into Jaded, like they always do !!! Still the energi was amazing !
Tre, who had looked really stoned until now, started to wake up, and started throwing his drum sticks into the air ! Then they played Knowledge. In the middle Billie stopped like he always does, and asked if anyone knew how to play the guitar !! I play the guitar, and I started screaming like crazy, with my friends jumping on both sides of me, and waving at Billie !! He looked at me and I just froze. Then he said "Wait a minutte" and went to the other side of the stage, and started talking to some guy, about wether he could play or not, so I thought that was it !! But then Billie came back, asked me about my age, and how long I have played guitar. I said: I'm 16 yeard old, and 2 years of playing. Then he looked at the audience, like he was asking if I was OK ! The nsaid "Well, come on up !!!" It was like a dream, and I felt like I was flying. I jumped onstage, and turned around and faced the audience. 18.000 looks ALOT, I can tell you !! My heart almost popped out of my body ! I yelled "Fuck!" to the audience a few times, before I faced Billie ! He hugged me, and Kissed me !! Right on my very mouth !! A really wet juicy kiss !! (And keep in mind that I'm male !). The nhe asked me if I could really play, and when I said yes, he said Great, Great, Great !! Then he gave me the microphone, and asked about my name ! As the word Kristian popped out of my mouth, the crowd went crazy !! I mean, when 18.000 people worship you, it's not just an everyday experience. Wow !! Then he showed me how to play the song on his guitar, and gave it to me ! All of a sudden I got really fucking nervous ! Billie told me to relax and started counting, so I knew when to start playing ! As I started playing, the nerves suddently disappeared, and I was flying again. Tre, Mike, Billie Joe, and Eiler, playing in front of 18.000 people... I mean, what more is there to say ?? I've been worshipping the band for 5 years, and there I was, playing with them !! As the song finished, Tre stood up and said: "Give me five" and I did !! He looked really happy, and had a big smile all over his face... Then I went to Mike, and shook his hand, before giving Billie his guitar. I ept the plectrum, with which Billie had played, just as a souvenir !! From the stage to the audience, was a free space on 1½ meters, so I didn't expect to stage dive. But Billie said: "Come over here ! You gotta jump ! You gotta stage dive !" I asked Billie if he was crazy, but he just told me to:"Jump as hard as you can"... And I did !! As I landed on top of the crowd, the band played Basket Case.
As my feet touched the ground, tons of people gratulated me, hugged me, and kissed me (!?!) and told me how cool I was !! (Like telling Bill Clinton, he is too skinny !) After that they played She, and then King For A Day. With horn section !! There were 2 horn players (Who actually played every single song after Knowledge), one dressed as a giant king size banana, and the other as a bee. Really weird !! It was a roadie who played the guitar, and Billie stood an top of a monitor, and strip teased. In the end, all he was wearing was these very cute leppard pantys. That was....ehmmm.... Weird !!
Then they played When I Come Around (Billie back on guitar). Andas the song leaked to an end, Tre took a drum and smashed it to the ground, before totally trashing everything !! Then he lit the drums on fire, and sprayed the stunned crowd with beer and water ! The horn players played the danish national anthem, before throwing their trumpets into the giant fire ! Mike also smasked his bas, and threw it on the fire !! After 10 minuttes of total riot, Billie played Time of Your Life, and all of a sudden it was all over ! But what a show it was !! After the show, people that I didn't know, came up to me and wanted autographs and stuff !! Really waky !! But the main subject was Green Day !! I have never seen a band have so much contact with their audience !! It was amazing to be a part of !!! Thanx Green Day !!
I took a lot of pictures of Green Day, and my riends took pictures of Green Day and me together !!! I hope to get them up here in the near future, so stay tuned and come back soon !
