Futuristic new wave metallers Orgy got a bit of a boost this week when they learned that their debut video, for their cover of New Order's "Blue Monday," attained Buzzworthy status with MTV.

The sci-fi-flavored clip [28.8 RealVideo], directed by video vet Gregory Dark (Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Ice Cube, etc.), now joins Eminem, Limp Bizkit, and Stardust in the buzz bin where it will fall on millions of impressionable young eyes. Perhaps some of those viewers will be able to help the band figure out what exactly is going on in the video.

"Not the slightest inkling what any of it is about," Orgy frontman Jay Gordon told MTV News on Tuesday of his knowledge of the clip. "I know there's a little kid that does this little, morphs into me situation. He's supposed to be me I guess as a young'n."

"He's much better behaved though," guitarist Ryan Shuck noted.

"He is. He's much better behaved," Gordon agreed. "There's that, and then the parents are kind of strange, hiding something from the kid kind of a thing. And there's the silver girls that we kind of created. We had a whole different plan, and the director had a whole different plan, but it all fused together nicely, at least frame by frame. Whether it makes sense or not, you know, I don't know. It just worked out."

Apparently so.

The Buzz Clip news is just the latest mark along Orgy's rocket-like career trajectory, which also saw the band signed six months after its formation, and saw the band play its first live gigs ever on last year's Family Values tour.

The group will try to maintain the roll its on with a spring tour with Love And Rockets (see "Orgy Ponders Love And Rockets Tour As New Video Debuts").
