Orgy has earned a lot of adoring fans this year, thanks in large part to its cover of the 1983 New Order classic, "Blue Monday," but the Chemical Brothers are not among those singing praises of the Orgy remake.

The Chemical Brothers teamed up with New Order singer-guitarist Bernard Sumner on the song "Out of Control" for the DJ duo's new album, "Surrender," which arrives in stores this week. The Chems' Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands talked with MTV News about the collaboration with Sumner, which, they say, wasn't done to cash in on the popularity of one of the seminal electronic acts of the '80s.

"Well, we wouldn't do anything that reflected as a trend for [remaking '80s songs]," Simons said, "we'd shy away. Bernard Sumner is, first most, part of a band that's made some of the greatest music ever, and it's not because it was made in the '80s or whatever. We wanted to work with him. We're not interested in an '80s revival."

"Strange concept, that cover of 'Blue Monday,'" Rowlands mused. "What is that? ['Blue Monday'] is one of the most futuristic records ever, and it still sounds like that. It seems to be a record that doesn't need covering. Especially 'cause I've heard [the remake], and it didn't need covering by that band. Atrocious."
