Rose McGowan; Marilyn Manson Rose McGowan revealed on The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday (Feb. 16) morning that she is now engaged to Marilyn Manson.
Appearing on the radio show to promote Jawbreaker, which is in theaters Friday (Feb. 19), she told Stern that Manson proposed to her in a "traditional manner" in a bathtub surrounded by candles (we were unaware of this tradition), and gave the actress an antique ring. Then, for those of you who need to know, they had sex. On why they're compatible, McGowan said, "We burn Furbies together."
The couple have been dating for about a year and a half, and in that time have frequently been spotted on the town together, even getting their hair done at the same time at a trendy Los Angeles spot. They also showed up together at the Hollywood Athletic Club last Thursday (Feb. 11) for the Jawbreaker premiere after-party -- not surprising, considering that the movie stars McGowan and features Manson in a silent cameo (allstar, Nov. 10, 1998).
McGowan also had some choice things to say on the show about Manson's bandmates, imitators, and the couple's sex life. When Stern asked her if there were any up- and- coming bands that Manson really liked, she couldn't exactly think of any, but she did have this to say: "There's a band called Orgy that copies him, and they suck."
Later in the show, Stern suggested that her family now is Manson's band. When he mentioned Twiggy (Ramirez, Manson's bassist), McGowan responded with, "The nose picker. Twiggy picks his nose more than anybody ever."
After a jealous 14- year- old female Manson fan called the show, Stern took the opportunity to ask if the couple had ever brought anyone else into the bedroom with them. "Just my dog," said McGowan. "But not like that." When Stern closed the show by suggesting that the actress will be getting a good husband ("and he's a good provider," said Stern), the actress added, "And he has a big package, right?"
