Snapcase Takes Over for Orgy

After illness forced Orgy to pull out of Papa Roach's Raid the Nation tour, finding a replacement was a snap.

Buffalo, New York, quintet Snapcase will fill the slot left vacant by the glam-tinged group, who withdrew after guitarist Amir Derakh was diagnosed with mononucleosis (see "Orgy Pull Out Of Papa Roach Tour Due To Illness"), according to the tour's publicist. The hardcore group rounds out a lineup that includes Alien Ant Farm.

Snapcase will join the jaunt as the second act beginning April 1 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, though the tour itself kicks off March 18 in Pensacola. Until Snapcase sign on, a local band will open each show.

After the first leg draws to a close on April 13 in Boston, the bands get a brief break while Papa Roach heads to London for a Brixton Academy gig on April 16. When the second leg launches, industrial headbangers Fear Factory will replace Snapcase on the bill. A second-leg itinerary will be announced shortly.

Snapcase have been a favorite of Papa Roach frontman Coby Dick for a while, especially after both bands toured together on last year's Vans Warped Tour (see "Green Day Join Vans Warped Lineup"). Since forming in 1991, Snapcase have released four albums, including last year's Designs for Automotion. Once they're finished raiding the nation, Snapcase will begin working on their next album, which they hope to release in late September or early October, according to their publicist at Victory Records. On June 5, an as-yet-untitled rarities compilation, featuring revisited early demos and album outtakes, is scheduled to surface.

In other Snapcase news, singer Daryl Tabreski will marry his longtime girlfriend in late spring, according to the label spokesperson.
