HITS OF OUR TIME
Lawrence Welk
(Dot Records) released 1967
About Welk, Vic says "Graphically speaking, he has the absolute ugliest album covers , but the disks inside are the best for my sort of fun." HITS OF OUR TIME is one of Mr. Champagne's best! Vic loves using "MUSIC TO WATCH GIRLS BY" as a warmup intro and will argue with anyone who'll listen that Welk's version of "THE BEAT GOES ON" rocks harder than Sonny & Cher's. "GEORGY GIRL" is the theme from the Lynne Redgrave movie of the same name. Twas about an ugly duckling girl who learns to have a sensible shake for breakfast and one at dinner!
