Matt and Jason of Windigo valiantly hold back the tears, so moved were they by the courage of this brave little seven year-old girl from Apache Junction they visited today. Her name is Jennifer Clump and for months her bacterial infection has baffled doctors. Last Wednesday, she lost all vision in one eye. By the following Tuesday, her remaining good eye dimmed irrevocably and she was too weakened by the ravages of her mysterious disease to even lift a spoon.

At this rate, her physicians doubted she would live out the summer but little Jennifer clung to one hope-that her letter to the ViC did not get lost in the mail and that our "ViC is Caring" Wish Foundation would see to it that she could meet her favorite group, Windigo.

Yes, even Windigo were surprised to count such a young and innocent fan in their ranks. When our "ViC is Caring" representatives met with the boys at the offices of NMG/Pavement Records and read her letter aloud, the band didn't even finish their tuna salad sandwiches. "We've got to do something for this brave girl," exhorted Jason who rifled through his pocket for some spare change.

"No," said Matt, bolting from his chair, "that's not enough. We got to see this girl RIGHT NOW and try and lift her spirits. Rock and roll has been pretty good to us so far. This one is for rock and roll!"

"And little Jennifer," Junior chimed in.

Off the group dashed to Good Samaritan Hospital where a thrilled Jennifer greeted her musical heroes. After feeling the stubble on their cheeks, poor little Jennifer lifted her fragile head and smiled for the first time in weeks. Not even TV personality Ron Hoon's visit managed that feat!

"I'm so excited," she gushed. The band showered her with a Windigo windfall of gifts, including a large day-glo Windigo poster she unfortunately can no longer see, their latest CD titled simply Windigo, a box of Wheaties autographed in braille by the entire group, a silk tour jacket and an Official Reichen Overgraaben Speed Skater Action Figure.

Windigo would not leave her bedside until Jennifer promised to be well enough to attend the launch night of their fall tour. We'll kep you posted on her condition. Anyone wishing to send prayers, donations, good wishes or promotional band items write to :
