I have found a prediction so utterly horrific, I've checked & double checked my research. There is no getting out of this. Take a deep breath, say goodbye to your loved ones, and prepare to read on;

This message is not buried in the lyrics (nor the backyard), but in the booklet of the Lament for the Numb CD.

Open the booklet to page 3. Notice a pair of wrinkled old woman's hands in a "prayer" grip, over a black (ie "death") background. This photo sets the timeframe - it is obviously a reference to the passing of Mother Theresa.

Turn the page- we see a sign "P60- applies 7 days". I take this to mean 60 days after Theresa's death, something will happen, and it'll take one week to be completed.

On the next page is a figure in a cross-like stance standing on water. This is either the second coming, or a surfer. I am as yet undecided.

Flip the page for a 6 picture montage. We see Dave playing guitar on the beach. We see a dead tree. We see a cat and an old woman (cats were the symbol of death in ancient Abyssinia). We see an old man wheeling away musical instruments. We see a giant figure waving goodbye. And we see Dave playing guitar on the beach again.

What does this mean? Well, I figure that the death references all point to a catastrophe of global significance. I think that the giant figure is a new dictator who will rise up and be ruler of the world (or a country at the very least), and attempt to ban all music (hence the old guy with the wheelbarrow full of guitars). Dave will flaunt the ban, and continue to play his guitar.

Flip the page. A black & white TV is turned off, and we see a radio next to the bible. This signifies Dave will continue his quest to give the gift of his music to the masses, and will in doing so found a new religious movement, The Dobbynites.

Turn the page again for a portrait of the new messiah (or perhaps he's not the messiah, he's just a very naughty boy). The dead trees from two pages back spring into life again. On the back page it is shown, that through the dark times, we must not lose hope as there is light at the end of the tunnel.

All hail Dave, he'll save every one of us.

This section obviously portends that the volcano in Monteserrat will blow so violently that so much ash is spewed into the air from the pryoplastic flows (speeding shadows) that the harbors of all cities become souplike with the fallout and there will be no more sunlight, only cloudlight.

Well no-one trusts Winston anymore especially since his winebox allegagtions blew up his face a few weeks back. The rest of the govt doesn't have much credibility anyway..

Greed is predicted in the shape of Tuku's quest for designer underwear...tired TV...well he got the money from a TV station. Oh and the TV channels became really boring and tired with the boring coverage of Tuku, Winston and co.

Hey who trusts Winston now? yep he did change with the tide of greed, he went with National just so that he could be in the govt...he lied too....he said he hated them.

Winston is having a referendum on compulsary superannuation for retirement. DD is warning us that if we vote for Winston's plan we are blind, and if the plan gets through it will be foisted upon an innocent majority.

DD is saying that Winston holds the life of many people in his hands, as his plans for retirement affect many people's lives and his positions as deputy PM and treasurer are pretty significant for the lives of all NZers.

Judge's note: This is not exactly what we were looking for, but we'll accept it. We would like predictions of future events of global significance, not current event reports. We want this to be a creative challenge, but ta Anne-Marie :-) !

After reading the lyrics to this song carefully, I have decided that this song was specifically written to predict the Green Bay Packers repeating as Super Bowl Champs this year.
