The Expert  - Dave Dobbyn
~~~~~~~~~~
From "Lament for the Numb".
tabbed by Robbie Berks
While this tab may seem a bit daunting, it is not
as difficult as it seems. While I have given three
variations of the first riff and two variations
of the second riff, you could do just as well
by learning just one of each, and just checking out
the others.
Most of the notes are picked, but there are places
where strumming is used. To help with the strumming
pattern for riff 2, I have used "v" to denote down
strokes, and "^" to denote upstrokes. A dot above "."
above a strum sign, indicates that the strum should
be a staccato strum. That is it should be damped
immediately after the chord sounds. (I use left hand
damping for this.) The only time this occurs is in
riff 2.
Corrections and additions are most welcome.
4/4 time.
  Riff 2a:
  Riff 2b:)
  (-- Verse and chorus can be played to riff 1 and variations --)
You're in the down elevator
He'll talk about metal fatigue
You just arrived in a foreign land
He'll boast he don't suffer from local diseases
Like a high roller he said read 'em and weep
Ain't it just enough - just enough
To wanna put you to sleep
Beware Beware there's an ego alert!
There's an expert 12 o'clock high
Beware Beware there's a million at work
They don't bother to wear no disguise
  (-- Riff 2, times 2 -- )
There's no room that I've been through
Where there isn't one
Some little nazi with a mouth like a loaded gun
The big wet blanket - the dummy spitter
I got a file on you yey deep and I call it bitter
Beware Beware yellow ego alert!
There's an expert 12 o'clock high
Beware Beware there's a million at work
And they're experts on your foolish pride
Bridge:
Enter the bridge from riff 1. The last bar of riff 1
leads into the bridge as follows.
-------2-----------2---------------
-----------2-----------2-----------
---------------2-------------------
---0-----------------------0---2---
-----------------------------------
That is,the last two notes have changed.
We then have the following chord progression
  (-- Play once --)
  C D+4 Em Em7/F# A A
  C D+4 Em Em7/F#
With the following bass pattern, listen to the album for the timing
as the timing given below is only approximate.
You only need the top few strings to make this sound right.
Here are the chords for the bridge
Em       022000
Em7/F#   220000
