HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LIZ!

"Oh, I'm just having the best time checking this site out. I love what you've done with it." [Liz Phair, 2003]

Welcome to Mesmerizing - Another Liz Phair Website. This is the twelve-year anniversary of my little Liz Phair website project. I'd like to thank everyone who supported this site since its inception way back in April 1st, 1997 (an April Fool's joke?).

The site has surpassed the 725,000-hits plateau. Three quarters of a million hits! Thanks to everyone for visiting.

Thanks to everyone who has been forwarding me Liz news (most recently Pitchfork, Billboard, CMJ, Spin, ATO Records, John Henderson, Brad Wood, Robert Joyner, the folks on the Liz Phair Forum and Support System mailing list, and Liz Phair). Also, many thanks to everyone who sent reviews / pictures / videos to the brief Exile In Guyville tour.

USA Today praises MesmerizingUSA Today has generously praised this humble site: Rocker Liz Phair will soon be coming to a theater near you. Phair recently signed on to appear in Cherish, a film co-starring Robin Tunney and Tim Blake Nelson. The role will delay the release Phair's next album. Read this report for more on the move; for more news, check out this great, updated Phair fan site. To read the entire article, click here. (Thanks to Whitney Matheson for the kind words.)

As promised, the image gallery is back up (albeit with some imperfections that need ironing out). Thank you all for your patience.

SITE UPDATES: Okay, I give up. I update the site daily nowadays, with Liz out on tour and promoting her new album. You should make a point to check the site daily (maybe a couple of times a day) for anything new -- especially in the news and articles sections. Trust me, it's worth the effort.

ATTENTION: Anyone have a copy of Girly Sound, the three-tape version? Liz, Tae, Chris, or someone who got dubs from them, can you help me out, please? For more of my want list, click here.

NEWS HEADLINES (all the Liz news that's fit to report): New album due 2009; producers include Jeff Trott and John Alagia. Liz on the new album: "natural" and "sloppy".
