Liz Phair
Latest album: White Chocolate Space Egg
Claim to fame: Before Alanis and all the angry rock girls, Liz
released her first album, Exile in Guyville, in 1993. She quickly
became an indie-label queen because she sang way blunt songs about
guys.
Family life: Raised in a posh Chicago burb by a doctor dad and
an art teacher mom.
Weird celeb fact: Liz went to summer camp with Julia Roberts
when she was 13.
First break: In the early '90s, Liz used the tapes she produced
in her bedroom to snag a record deal.
Love lowdown: Liz met her film editor hubby on the set of her
first video in 1993. They have a 26-month-old son.
She knew Jewel way back when: If you went to see one of Liz's
1995 concerts, you may remember her opening act -- Jewel!
