I want to be in another country when the millenium turns. I haven't been in another culture for a while, and, for some reason, I want to take this monumental date and make it something that symbolizes being alive here on Earth, rather than just being an American, rather than just being a white woman. I want to release my identity for a moment and just be a citizen of Earth. I don't actually think that will happen, but I'll write a song about it.

POLITICAL EVENT - I just have this sense of horror that people took "The Communist Manifesto" and widely tried to enact it by force. It was so rigid, and it was so structured. You cannot train animals like humans to obey like that. It just doesn't work. You can't say, "Be equal." Equality or generosity of spirit is something that comes through spiritual evolution.
