A little more about Jimmy Chamberlain:
Okay, we all know about Jimmy's drug problems - they've been documented to death. The most serious of his drug issues took place on July 12th 1996, when he and the band's touring keyboardist Jonathan Melvoin overdosed on "Red Rum", which is a form of heroine.
Chamberlain was able to recover but Melvoin was pronounced dead a short time later. Band frontman Billy Corgan later contacted the band's manager and reportedly told him to "Sack Chamberlain!", marking one of the darkest moments in the band's history.
Now however it appears that the sun has risen again on the Pumpkins as Jimmy has rejoined the band. They are currently working on material for their next album, and all signs are relatively positive that the next Pumpkins album could very well be their finest yet.
Jimmy performed in a band called "The Last of The Hard Men" in his time away from the Pumpkins. 1
