"Tommy Lee"

Born Thomas Lee Bass on October 3, 1962 in Athens, Greece. His Mom was a Greek woman and his Dad was an American soldier They move to LA when he was 4. He has always been a hyperactive person. He used to set up cardboard boxes and beat on them, jamming to Kiss Alive. He credits the ballet lessons that he took when he was young for his timing and rhythm. He also was forced to take piano lessons, which he uses in some of the Crüe's songs, also a basis in his songwriting.

His family eventually moved to L.A. where Tommy started drumming "seriously" at 15 years of age. His first live performance was in his backyard as a teenager. "We rigged coffee cans with lights, played copy tunes. Pretty funny now that I look back."

Tommy spent most of his high school years at Royal Oak High with his friend Vincent Neil Wharton. Tommy's first serious band was Suite 19, with Greg Leon. Tommy met Frank Ferranno in a club in January of 1981. Frank called Tommy to come over. Tommy was shocked (Tommy had a big poster of Frank's band London on his wall at the time). Tommy goes and agrees to work with Nikki. They soon acquired a "Lewd, rude, and aggressive guitarrist," Bob A. Deal, from a magazine called Recycler. Bob came up with the name Mottley Krue, but Frank changed the spelling to Mötley Crüe. They invited Vince for an audition for vocals, he refused for fear of changing bands (he was currently in Rock Candy). While recording a demo tape, Tommy called Vince to come into the studio and audition. They then acquired Vince into the Crüe.

Tommy changed his name to just Tommy Lee.

Was married to the model Elaine Irwin for a short time. Tommy proposed to Heather Locklear on December 24, 1985. Tommy first met Heather backstage at a REO Speedwagon concert in L.A.'s Forum. He said "Hi, I'm Tommy, nice to touch you." He marries her on May 10, 1986. On April 9, 1989, Tommy, Heather, and her parents went to the Jimmy Stewart Marathon Benefit at Griffith Park for the aid of St. John's Children Hospital. On April 19, 1990, Tommy is rushed to the hospital after falling out of his drum riser at the concert in the New Haven Coliseum in Connecticut. Tommy and Heather denied many rumors doubting their love. "That's because there's so many people who would love to see us unhappy and break up. We're fine, I don't know what the deal is with that, it's not because they don't like us, it's because here in Hollywood, people write things and try to do things to us. It's like fuck off, man! Let us be! There's all kinds of these fuckin' stupid dirt mags that print photos of me and Jessica Hahn and say I'm fuckin' her. It's like what the fuck [are] you talking about? I did a video with her that's all. They hope that Heather will read it and divorce me. Give me a fuckin' break. That's happened to me so many times. They always write a bunch of shit. Hey, shit sells. We don't let it get to us. We're very happy! Fuck, I just had a great weekend with her. I flew home and it was choice. Hey, I been married for three years, man. A lot of celebrity marriages don't work out." Tommy and Heather filed for divorce in 1993. He's now Married to Pamela Sue Anderson (ex-Baywatch actrees) Pamela has apparently filed for divorce and custody of their two children, Brandon & Dylan as of February, 1998

Pamela Anderson is using her explosive dust-up with hubby Tommy Lee to rescue her stalling career. Or say some industry insiders, who claim Pam's publicity machine demanded she distance herself from the Mötley Crüe drummer in order to salvage her faltering new TV show, "VIP." What's more, says Tommy's sister, Athena Kottak: "Tommy is being painted as a complete monster, when he's nothing like that. People are making judgements about him without even bothering to ask his side of the story."

Pam's show is on the line and they've got to do something to save it." "VIP," produced by Columbia-TriStar, had been enjoying a good reception from stations looking to syndicate the show, which is to debut this fall. Then came news that another of Pam's X-rated home videos - this one with former Brett Michaels - will soon be available on the Internet. (A Tommy Lee/Pamela porn reel made the rounds some months ago.) "Here was Pamela in not one, but two sex tapes, with two different men," said a TV source. "Potential buyers freaked."

The latest domestic blowup, says a Hollywood insider, prompted Anderson's camp to "devise a [spousal abuse] agenda" that would make her a sympathetic figure. "People should take a look at the true motivations of the people around Pamela" the source noted. And Athena insists her brother is getting a bad rap: "He's probably the most loving father and husband to Pam and their boys." Furthermore, she said, Tommy is a "mellow person" who's been trashed by two former girlfriends who that week made the rounds dissing him on tabloid TV. "These are violent women who are trying to get their 15 minutes," she blasted. But what's stopping her famous brother from refuting the battery claims? His lawyer, says Tommy's sister, won't let him talk.
