Barry Gibb

Whether it's the tender sound of "Words" and "In The Morning", the breathless sensuality of "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" and "I Could Not Love You More", the pure falsetto sounds of "Too Much Heaven" or the forceful vibrancy of "He's A Liar" Barry Gibb's vocals are unmistakable - rich and penetrating. Pair this amazing voice with his songwriting abilities and you have a talent the likes of which this world may never see again.

Barry is devastatingly handsome but one has only to talk to a few of those who have been fortunate enough to meet him to realize that his beauty is much more than skin deep. Everyone who has met him mentions how kind he is and his hugs are legendary.

Of course, it is impossible to write about Barry without including the other two-thirds of the harmonic triangle. As Maurice has said, "One is OK, two is pretty good, but the three together is pure magic". The intricate blending of the Gibb vocals is almost mystical and their songwriting talents are second to none. Their songs have the power to evoke emotions that run the gamut from that warm feeling you get when you sit down with your best friend for a cup of tea and a heart to heart talk - to that bittersweet, hole in your soul that comes when you remember good times shared with someone who is no longer with you and wish to God that you had realized then just how precious that time was - to the tug at your heart strings that happens every time you look at your children and realize how fleeting and precious childhood is - to the sensual pleasures of being with that perfect lover (past or present - flesh or fantasy).

For over thirty years the Bee Gees have blessed our lives with their pure, perfect harmonies and their beautiful words. No other songwriters can so vibrantly put heart to words and soul to music. If I worked at it every minute of every day of the rest of my life I could still never repay Barry, Robin, and Maurice for all they have given me through their music. All I can offer are these humble, heartfelt words.....Thank you and may God bless you always.
