Album Reviews
Sunday Telegraph - Sunday 30th March, 1997.
For an established band, this would be well above average; for a debut, its outstanding. Catapulted to fame with the dance track I Want You, the band consolidated their hold on the teen market with To The Moon & Back and Truly, Madly, Deeply. The band is undoubtedly one of the countrys most promising mainstream act. The sound is unashamedly commercial, but with polished Euro-pop dance tracks and sugary but sincere ballads, Savage Garden is impossible to ignore.
8/10.
TV Hits - April 1997.
From out of nowhere comes this most excellent debut pop CD by our hottest new act. The rest of SGs stuff is just as catchy as their two big hits. SG know their stuff: their melodies are spot on, their lyrics are mad, and they sound like theyre enjoying themselves. A fantastic effort.

Dolly Magazine - May 1997.
Its not often that you see an extremely excellent Australian pop act storm the Australian Charts, but thats what Brisbane boys Darren and Daniel have done with their fantastic tunes. From their first big hit, I Want You, to their recent chart-topper, To The Moon & Back, Savage Gardens 12 track debut is one super pop offering!

Girlfriend - May 1997.
An impressive debut from Ozs hottest new sensations. The great blend of Daniels musical wizardry and Darrens unique voice have already become familiar with their singles, but the rest of the album is just as infectious.

Smash Hits - May 1997.
Theyve already scored a hat-trick with their hit singles "I Want You", "To The Moon & Back" and "Truly, Madly, Deeply", and no doubt their debut album will follow that gold-pathed road to success. The long-player is as diverse as the three singles- ranging from early 80s electronic pop to a more mature breezy er, pop! There are at least another two hit singles just waiting to be released, so youll be hearing a lot more from these two whether you like it or not! With a massive interest in the duo coming from the US, it might not be too long before Darren and Daniel relocate to America to push their wares, but not before they engage on a national Australian tour-so make sure you catch them when they breeze into your town while you can!
