"Love this one. Sounds right in there with Blink, SR-71,
Fenix etc. I really like the vocal attitude. Also very
cool counterpart in chorus. Good one!!" - Rick

Q&A
Who
are the members of the band and how did you all get
together?
Jim Decker Vocals, Jim Kaa Guitar, Dennis Walsh
Drums, Jeff "Boz" Milucky Bass, Mark Lee Guitar. Basically
we all grew up in Huntington Beach and met going to
high school.
What other bands have the members been in?
Well Jim and Jim are original members and only play
in the Crowd. Dennis was in the Flyboys and recorded
with the Flesheaters. Boz has his own band Curb and
has played with Rik L Rik and Youth Brigade. And Mark
is formerly of the Humpers.
Where is the band from?
The First and Foremost Huntington Beach Punk band.
How have you managed to stay together since 1978?
Lots of arguments (ha ha), but in the end the love of
making and playing music is what makes it all worthwhile.
Do you have any CD's available to purchase and where?
CDNOW usually carries our Letter Bomb CD from Flipside
records. It has 15 songs, 5 videos and a bunch of pictures.
Most of our releases are available at your better punk
record shops and mail order catalogs.
Will it be available at loudENERGY.com when their
store opens?
We hope so!
Who produced your latest release?
Our next single "I'm not happy here" will be out around
Labor Day. We produced it ourselves for our new production
company "Dim Jim Productions"
What are your plans for this summer?
Recording, touring etc... We just recorded the single,
and are working on the last few songs for a new CD to
be released by Disaster Records in January 2001.
Who is the band's biggest influence?
You would have to ask the individual members. But the
Buzzcocks and the Clash are two of my personal favorites
(Jim K).
Do you have any up coming shows? Where?
Linda's Doll Hut in Anaheim on Saturday August 12
and the Garage in Hollywood on Saturday August 26. The
Glass House show is a benefit for Flipside Fanzine.
We will definitely be booking shows for September when
the single is released.
What are your favorite bands?
We support the New Beach Alliance and all the bands
associated with it.
Who do you have playing in your car stereo now?
The final mix of our single "I'm not happy here" before
that is was Public Image (Jim K).
Any comments on the Orange County music scene?
Certainly there are more clubs to play than ever, but
it seems to be segregated by musical style. It does
appear that many younger OC Bands are doing well with
the majors. I hope someone figures out that a thriving
original music scene has been and is an important part
of OC culture.
What is the hardest thing to do while being in a band?
Being in a band is the hardest thing.
Do you have a favorite band story? Tour fight, fanatic
fan etc...
Having had the opportunity to see and play with so many
great bands. From the Jam to X, to the Clash, the Weirdos,
Gang of Four, the Damned, the Ramones and so on and
so on...
Additional comments...
After 20 years on the HB/OC music scene The Crowd
shows no sign of letting up. Their trademark punk/pop
sound is a staple of today's "modern rock". Great songs
and a powerful live show continue to make the band a
vital part of OC punk rock. "We lit the fires, that
burn even brighter In young hearts of desire, We were
the igniters" From "Run for the Money" off the Letter
Bomb CD. |
