So you want to build a web site eh? You think you have what is takes do ya? Ten to One you probably do. All you need is some sort of text editor from claris works to microsoft to your notepad. Cut and paste, there you go. There are also many web page builders out there for those who would like something more visual than just typing, typing, cutting, pasting, blah blah blah.
One of my old favorites was AOLpress. Though I do not belieive that aol itself offers it anymore, a little bit of searching online has proven sucessful for this free download. When using this your page is right in front of you, you type where you want, change fonts, backgrounds, and add images easily. Frames are also made real simple. Uploading the file will take a little knowlegde of html (or common sense), especially if you have links to other sites made on your computer.
Geocities and other host sites also have a easy page builders, the problem with these is they can be a little boring and lack creativity. My site is for those who wish to build their own from the ground up. This is not hard and shouldn't be intimadating.
First off you need to choose a host for your site. Some of the most common free sites are angelfire, aol and of course geocities. I have been using geocities since my first dinky page and like it. The ads will probably piss you off, but are actually kept to a minimun when you are working on your page.
Now comes the fun part. Start thinking. What do you want your page to be about? How will it look? What colors, backgrounds, themes, etc. do you want? This is your chance not to be a tool, so don't screw it up.
Now that we have that all cleared up your ready to start using html. Any questions? Read ahead and then E-mail me
