Chapter 20
I picked up the phone. I was going to call my cousin Jay and tell
him that
I'd
be home probly tomorrow. But, the thing is, is that I had no
desire to
leave.
I was in the backroom by myself watching "Can't Hardly Wait."
It
was
about 1:00 pm and the boys' rehearsing hours were from 1:30 till
6:30.
This
was the last show that Megan and I would be with them because
Virginia
was
their second to last show, and it was the closest to Kentucky.
Their
final
show was in Tampa. I hung up the phone. I couldn't do it. I knew
there
was something that had to be done about this. I'm 18 years old, I
have
to get away from my old life. This is the man I love, the man I
share
intimacy
with, the man of my dreams. I sighed and looked down as a tear
slowly
dripped down my face. Then out of the corner of my eye, I saw the
doorknob
turn. It was Megan. I wiped the tear away, as she looked at me
with
concern.
"Oh my god, Rachel, what's wrong?"
"Well, this is the last day we have with them, what are we
going to do?" I
asked
her. There was a long pause. Megan's expression changed.
"I don't know. Hopefully something will come up. Something
really good. I
can't
believe.
