He joined in 1971 to Fantasy, replacing their original singer, Paul Petley:
In 1972, they changed their name for a while to Firequeen. Their first album, Paint a picture, appeared when they already were using the name Fantasy.Paul Lawrence (vocals, guitar)

They also recorded a 2nd album in 1974, called Beyond the beyond, but it remained unreleased until 1992. They split that same year.
But in 1976, the band comes back to life with a different lineup, as we've read in Geoff Whitehorn pages.
