Hellish, hyper- mad mass murderists. Niden Div. 187 is the side projectof members from A Canarous Quintet, Dawn, and Thy Primordial. This cult of dark butchers brought you the ravenousmini release, Towards Judgment, and with the continued alliance of the Necropolis horde, they commit the ultimate sin of premeditated bestiality with the release of Impergium.
Pit: Why have you decided to change the name of the band from Niden Div. 187 to just Div. 187?
Henke Foss: As you may know, 187 is the police code for murder, and we wanted a name that was kind of mysterious. Some people may not know what 187 means, like in Sweden, and parts of Europe. In America, though, everybody knows. Niden didn't mean anything; it was just a name.
Pit: Since all of you are in other popular black/ death bands, what is the reason for the side project.
Henke: We all have other bands, but we don't feel we get the releasze of all our aggressions and hatred through the other bands. We formed this band purely to release hate and aggression. Our next LP will probably be our last. We thought of thi strictly as a side project band that would release only two full lengths and one EP.
Pit: Why did you choose the name Impergium for the CD title?
Henke: It means there are too many people on the planet, so some must be killed. the cover is a picture of the Hiroshima bomb.
Pit: OK, in your publicity shots, why are you all holding firearms?
Henke: It's part of our concept with the murder squad, Div. 187. And, probably because we're all a little homicidal, if not suicidal. We all get frusterated. At least I do, and I think I ca nspeak for the rest of the band, as well. Walking down the street you see a lot of assholes and you get so fed up with it- you know, just normal people. You want to kill people even if you don't want to.
Pit: Have you ever thought of moving to another country?
Henke: Yea, I don't like Sweden at all. I live in a small community; we have like 25,000 people here, and people like us kind of stand out. People look at us like freaks. I live for Armageddon- if that's the end of the world, that would be great.
Pit: How would you compare your lyrics for Dawn to the lyrics od Div. 187?
Henke: Well, the lyrics for Dawn are more personal stuff, like personal deceit and having to overcome people- lots of hatred and aggression towards other people. So, basically, it's the same as Niden, we just seem to get the point across easier with Div. 187 compared to Dawn.
Pit: What are your feelings on heavy metals stature?
Henke: I think it's gonna last for a long, long time, of course. A lot of new kids dicovered metal earlier than I did. I started listening to hardcore when I was eight years old, and it all grew into grindcore, death metal, and eventually black metal. I think heavy metal, and metal in general, will live on.
Pit: Any favorite pastime activities besides this life of infernal blackness and death?
Henke: I work out at the gym like two hours a day. Other than that, I take long walks, also for about two hours a day. Other than that I don't have a lot of time. Right now, I work at a school as a teacher's aid. The last book I read was American Psycho, and the last good movie I saw ws The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Star Wars Trilogy when they redid them. You can't beat Star Wars! |
