LATEST 702 NEWS - Feb 4th 2001
As you have probably noticed, this site has not been updated for almost a year now. Well, that is because 702 weren't doing much, and I was way too busy. Anyway, here's an update on what 702 are up to. Lead singer Meelah has left the group to follow a solo career, look out for her first solo single sometime this year. Irish and Misha are still with the group, and founding member Orish Grinstead (Irish's twin sister) has re-joined the group as the third member. The trio are keeping the name 702, and should have an album out by the summer. The first single from this album, "Love's A B*tch", should start getting radio play soon.
702 debuted on the r'n'b scene in 1994, featuring on the song "This Lil' Game We Play" by Subway. Back then there were four members in 702 - Misha, Irish, her twin Orish and their cousin Amelia.
The girls stormed back into the charts in 1996 with their hit single "Steelo". By this point both Orish and Amelia had left the group. They were replaced with Meelah, giving 702 it's current line-up of Irish, Misha & Meelah. The follow-up album "No Doubt", was released on October 8th 1996, and gave the group a further three hits, "Get It Together", "No Doubt" and "All I Want".
Featuring Missy Elliott, "Steelo" was one of the most original and catchy tunes of '96. It gained gold status, as did 702's second single "Get It Together", and the album.
On June 15th 1999, 702 released their second album, called "702". This album includes the two hit singles "Where My Girls At" and "You Don't Know", aswell as nine other brand new songs.
This site features pictures, audio, video clips and lyrics from the girls of 702.
