You have a wack browser. It doesn't support frames. What's up with that? Anyway,
go pick up a frames-enabled browser: Microsoft Internet
Explorer or Netscape Navigator. That way you
can get the most out of my site. Thanks.
Until then, I have a non-frames version up. Enjoy.
Anyway. . . what's up? Thanks for visiting Ghetto Music, a
site where you can check out reviews of new releases in the rap genre,
as well as older Hip-Hop classics that you might not be familiar with.
The purpose of this site is to inform people on what my opinion on the quality of an
album is before they go out and spend their hard earned cash on it. Remember, these are
just my opinions, not necessarily facts, so there's no need to throw a fit if I give your
favorite album a so-so review.
By the way, there's no need to make the Guestbook messages private unless there's
something that really does need to be private, okay?
Album Reviews
Below, you will find
a list of the most recent reviews I've done and a list of those I plan to
do soon. Feel free to e-mail me at
stevec@netnitco.net if you have any requests,
corrections, comments, questions, death threats, etc.
Before you read any of my reviews, let me first explain the ratings system:
Every album reviewed is given a score from 1 to 10 (10 being the best score possible). Now,
before you go any further, get the whole 9=A, 8=B, 7=C scale that the school systems
taught you out of your head. That's not how I do it.
For example, on my scale, a 7 isn't average, it's actually very good. A 5 isn't an F, it's
more like a C. Here's the scale:
10 = Flawless
9 = Near Perfect, a sure classic
8 = Excellent
7 = Very Good, Clearly Superior
6 = Good
5 = Average
4 = Flawed, but still listenable
3 = Bad
2 = Terrible
1 = Wick, wick, WACK
Anything that scores an 8 or above is recommended to all Hip-Hop fans. An album that
scores a 5-7 is something that you definitely might want to check out, especially if
you're a big fan of the artist. An album that scores a 3 or 4 is one of a low quality,
but still has a few redeeming qualities that might make a few people want to purchase it.
Anything that scores a 2 or below would be better to just stay away from.
Towards the beginning of all of my reviews are THE GOOD NEWS and
THE BAD NEWS, quickly stating the major good and bad points of the album.
After about my sixth review, I started receiving some complaints via
e-mail that my reviews were too long. So, these were added so that someone could get a
basic idea about the album without reading the whole review. I think of them as being
sorta like Cliffs Notes to my reviews. But, if you want to know the WHOLE story, you're
going to have to read the whole review.
If you have any questions or comments about my
ratings system, or my reviews in general, please e-mail me at
stevec@netnitco.net or sign my
Guestbook above.
There are many other reviews that I have written, but it wouldn't be very
space-efficent to list them
all on the top page. All of my reviews are archived on seperate pages. I have the reviews
sorted so you can find them in the archive, alphabetically sorted.
