My hand shook as I opened the front door of my house. I walked in slowly with AJ behind me.
"Mom, Dad can you come here," I shouted.
My parents came down the stairs quickly. As soon as my mom saw that I had been crying she rushed over to me. My dad's face tuned angry when he saw AJ standing at my side.
"We have to talk to you," I managed to squeak out.
My mom nodded her head and led us into the living room. She sat me down on the couch and motioned for AJ to sit next to me. My parents moved two chairs so that they were sitting directly across from us. I closed my eyes for a brief second, saying a silent prayer. I took a deep breath and looked up at my parents.
"I'm pregnant," I said quickly.
My mom looked completely stunned sitting there. My dad jumped out of his chair and immediately started yelling.
"How could you do this to my little girl," he yelled getting in AJ's face," I knew better than to trust you."
"Daddy stop! AJ didn't do this all by himself. I was there too you know."
"I'm disappointed in you Kiara. I told you to stay away from him. You disobeyed me. Get out of my house," he said rather calmly.
"Where is she supposed to go David," my mom asked speaking for the first time.
"I'll find a place for her to stay," AJ said.
"Can I get a some of my things?" I asked
"Get them quickly. I want you out of this house in no more than ten minutes."
I ran upstairs dragging AJ with me, afraid of what my dad would do to him if he stayed down there. I stood silently in front of my bed throwing stuff in a bag. Some silent tears coursed down my face. I heard the door creak open and saw my mom come in. She walked over to me and gave me a hug.
"Kiara, I'm so sorry he's kicking you out. I can't stop him."
"It's ok mom. I know it's not your fault. I'm gonna stay at AJ's."
My mom started helping me put stuff in the bag.
"You guys should get going now."
My mom went over and gave AJ a hug.
"Take care of my little girl," she said with a sad smile.
"I will don't worry."
"Here's AJ's number," I said handing her a piece of paper," Could you tell Jason for me and have him call me?"
My mom nodded her head. We all walked downstairs with my bag and pillow in hand. I kissed my mom on the cheek and walked out the door silently.
The ride back to AJ's house was completely silent. Every once in a while a tear would slide down my cheek. I had cried so much that day, I didn't think I would cry ever again.
When we got to AJ's house he led me upstairs to take a nap.
"I'm gonna call my mom and have her come over so I can tell her," he said once he had gotten me tucked into his large bed.
I nodded my head and he left the room. I heard AJ on the phone with his mom. A little while later I heard a car door shut and AJ greet his mom before I fell asleep.
