My Heart Written on January 22, 2001 Revised on June 21, 2001 My heart is like rubber. You can throw it and drop it. But it always bounces back You can clench it and distort it. It will always regain its shape. My heart is like a flower. You can pick it and pluck it. It will always grow stronger roots. You can cherish it and nurture it. And it will always return the love. My heart is like broken glass. You can stick it back together and glue it. It will try to be the same. You can sweep it up and rescue it. Hold it close and caress it. The scars will always be there. But in time they will heal. And my heart will still cry out in pain. But the cries will be softer and softer each time. My heart is like an ocean. It is full of new discoveries and old treasures. It is open and gentle. But please be careful with your words and actions. It isn't made of steel. |

Drowning Written on December 6, 2000 I dive in...neck deep... Slowly the water creeps... higher and higher... Soon I cannot breathe. The cool liquid seeps into my body... and takes over. My heart is drowning. It is screaming for the love that it once carressed. It calls the name of the one I love... I thought he loved me too. I open my eyes and I see a silhouette glistening in the water. Panic strikes me as I come to. I reach out for help... but no one is there... |
