The local scene was already overly saturated with the soon to be "mainstream" cool alt-punk sound. Not wanting to do the same old thing, Shut Eye soon found themselves referred to as being "artsy & avant-garde". Years later, and after a couple of line-up changes, they continue to find new sounds and write great songs that defy the pop-culture, flavor of the week attitude found in todays rock industry.
