I ran down the tunnel toward Gate 98B, Taylor's gate. It was Wednesday night. My hair was blowing in my face as I sprinted. I heard my Uncle Dan far behind me yelling for me to slow down. I wore my tight flare jeans and a tight hunter green top. My dad left early that morning like I could tell. I spotted Taylor walking out of the coridor. He was wearing some baggy jeans with his blue camafluge shirt and his hair was tied back too. He stopped walking toward me as I flung my arms around him as he did my waist. The feeling of him holding me close made me remember back to Christmas and the party Christmas Day. "I missed you so much." I whispered into his ear. We just held each other standing in the middle of the tunnel. Finally Uncle Dan tapped me on the shoulder obviously not wanting to intrude. I let go of Taylor. and stood between the two guys. "Tay, this is my Uncle Dan. Uncle Dan this is Tay." They shook hands for a moment. "I've heard an awful lot about you Taylor for about the past month." Taylor laughed at his comment as did I. "Well all I've been talking about is Ali." I blushed furiously. "My brothers are getting annoyed." We all laughed a little. "Well, I'll go get your other bag so why don't you two just wait here a moment." Uncle Dan didn't even wait for an answer and walked toward the luggage area. Taylor and I took a seat on a bench in the tunnel. "So, does Tara mind having a guest around?" Taylor asked me. "Heck no! She misses Isaac alot but that will change once she moves there." Taylor smiled and nodded. "Isaac and I are gonna come back here in about two weeks to help her move and all. We were thinking maybe you would want to come back with us to Tulsa for awhile. I mean since you don't go to the normal school anymore you can just get your work." "I'd love too but it depends on if Uncle Dan needs me to work then." I had told Taylor before that I was like his secratary. You think I would tell him what I was really doing with my Uncle? "I'm sure he could give it to you. Besides I'll get on my hands and knees and beg." I smiled. Tay would do just about anything for me ... even stand up to my dad. "So what do you want to do first?" I asked him. "Well first I want to be alone with you." He said pulling me into his arms. He placed his soft lips against mine. His arms tightened around me like old times. He slowly opened his mouth wider letting out his passion of me to me. I quickly pulled away noticing some people staring. "What?" He asked me. "C'mon Taylor. We are in public." I nudged him in the shoulder with my fist. "Remember we are suppose to keep this on the hush." He looked sort of affended. "Ali, for the last month I've done over half a dozen interviews and in everyone they've asked if I have a girlfriend. It hurts me everytime I am forced to say no. I feel like I am betraying you." He looked to the ground. "Taylor, when we decided to go out I knew that I couldn't say anything for your sake. I know you'll always be forced to say no and that doesn't bother me. I don't want you to loose fans because of me either." He looked up just as Uncle Dan walked over to us. "Ready?" He asked. "Yeah, let's go." I said standing up. Taylor looked at me as I held out my hand. He took it and smiled. "I'm sorry." He whispered in my ear as we walked down the tunnel. I gave him a kiss on the cheek. "No problem." ~* Later On *~ "Bye Uncle Dan." I yelled to him as he pulled his hunter green saturn out of our drive way. I closed the navy front door and turned to Taylor who had already gotten situated on one of the maroon victorian chairs in the dinning room. His eyes were closed like he hadn't slept in days. I walked over to him and sat down next to him. His eyes opened a little then he sat upright. He looked to the floor obviously a little troubled. It looked kinda acward to me. "Is something wrong, Tay? You don't look so hot." He looked up at me with very serious eyes. "Ali, what happened Monday night with your father?" The question rang through my ears and shocked me. I felt the pain from falling down the stairs all over again. "Ummm.......He..accused..me again." The words were hard to say as I felt the tears starting to form in my eyes. He could tell my eyes started to get watery. "What happened?" "Well...um...once I put the phone down he came home and he had been...drinking with his friend Jon again. You see he came in and yelled at me and he..........slapped me and........slugged me in the stomach." The tears started to proceed down my cheeks like a river flowing down a mountain. "He threw me down...the stairs.... and..." I couldn't finish the utter horror of what he said still sounded in my ears. I put my face in my hands and cried as softly as I could until I felt Taylor's arms wrap around my body. He pulled me into a hug and let me cry onto his shoulder. I couldn't stop the tears from comming as new ones came flowing the old. Taylor pulled me away. He glided his hand along my cheek. "After Monday night I haven't slept a wink, Ali. I waited night and day to get a phone call saying you were either badly hurt or even dead." Another fresh tear rolled down my cheek but Tay stopped it. "I'm not going to do that again and I'm not going to let your father hurt you anymore. Cause when he hurts you it hurts me." I felt as if all the pressure had been lifted off my shoulders but now it was laying on his. He stood straight up. "C'mon." He held out his hand and I took it. He pulled me up into his arms. I laid my head on his shoulder. All the feelings of Christmas came back to me. The party seamed to repaet itself in my mind. Taylor softly sang I Will Come To You in my ear. It sent chills up my spine hearing his voice again. I felt safe with his arms wrapped around my body. Back Home Chapter 22
