Chapter 41

After a couple of hours of constant standing or sitting next to the bedside of Ali, Tara and Corde began to colapse slowly. They hadn't slept in almost 30 hours and it was really tiring them out. Isaac offered to give them a ride home, but they declined. So Jason talked to one of the nurses and she was able to clear out one of the small conference rooms for the group of them to crash in. So, Tara, Ike, Jason and Corde all fell asleep shortly after they spread out on the couches in the room. Taylor however stayed in the hospital room with Ali holding her hand just as he had done only 90 days before. Her face was growing with color at least and he was moving the small brown strands of hair away from her face. He thought of what he had told Dan about her father. He hadn't believed him when he said it. He knew there were problems, but not that many.

"Don't you worry. Ali will never go back to that home with him. I will make sure he pays."

He had said that only seconds before he left and Taylor was glad Ali wouldn't see her father again for quite some time. He didn't think much about the future at the moment. He just wanted to hold Ali's blue eyes gaze and tell her how much he loved her. He was very relieved when the nurse came in and unplugged the oxygen machine informing Taylor that she no longer needed it and it would only be a little while longer before she would awake. That had been almost 30 minutes ago and he was anxious to see her smile again.

It felt like a black hole that never ended. One that you couldn't tell whether you were falling or whether you were submerging to the top of. It was a space, a dazed confuzed space that fluctuated my body, sole, and emotions. I never was released from the state. I was paralyzed there, in utter darkness without myself functioning. I could here faint voices, but they would come and go. I began to think this was heaven and it was suppose to be blissful, or maybe it was even hell. It wasn't reality or the real world. It was complicated and nothing I had ever imagined it could be. The sounds I heard came and went for so much time that I had become numb to them until they were there consistently. They were growing in magnitude and somehow I felt myself being pulled to them. It was my goal within reach since I was in the dull state and when the darkness began to fade brighter I knew something was pulling me or that something was comming closer to me. It almost felt like hanging waiting for the rope to pull you out and finally the rescue squad had arrived. And suddenly my eyes shot open and the light from the cieling blinded me as I felt warm arms wrap around myself. It was Taylor, my Taylor.

I sat and packed my bag thankful to finally leave the hospital which I had learned to call home for the last 2 weeks. I had recovered fully from the bullet, however I need to take some pills for the rest of my life because of where Richard shot me. I was over it though, he was dead and that made a smile spread across my face. Sure, revenge was sweet, but it wasn't just for me I was out to kill him for, it was all the other little girls who's mother's were killed by Richard. Suddenly, the doorway opened and there stood Taylor. He walked over to me and held me in a sweet embrace. The whole Richard thing he now knew about, every single aspect of it. We had become even closer now, if that was even possible. He let me go and I just got lost in his eyes. He gave me a small kiss and pulled away.

"Ready to go?" He asked. I only smiled happy to leave.

"You betcha I am."
