Kevin ordered Amanda, Aaron, Leigh Anne, Dawn and Theresa to sit in the kitchen quietly. They immediately obeyed because they knew that they didn't want to cause anymore problems.
"Mr. Walsh? What are you doing here?" Kevin asked civilly. Flashes of cameras were going off simultaneously blinding him.
"I want to see my daughter." he commanded.
"I'm sorry, she doesn't want to see you..." Howie said calmly.
Mr. Walsh tried to push his way into the house. When Jordan, Nick and A.J. heard Howie and Kevin struggling to keep him out they immediately went to help them. Karen wouldn't let Brian go because she was afraid he was going to blow up. "Mr. Walsh, you can't come in here." Nick said.
"All I want to do is see my daughter." He said trying to get through.
"No," A.J. said helping the four other guys block the doorway.
"You guys are going to pay for this, I don't care if you have all the fame and money in the world, but the people are going to see what you guys are really like.... then we'll see how you're much fame you guys will have after this lawsuit." Mr. Walsh threatened.
Karen couldn't hold Brian back anymore. Brian fought his way to the front of his friends. "Mr. Walsh, if you are only doing this to ruin us for giving your daughter a good life, then go right ahead. The only person you're punishing right now is her. If you truly want her to be happy, LET her decide where she wants to be.." Brian said rather calmly.
Karen had followed Brian to the door, she stood behind the guys trying not to be seen. But her stepfather spotted her. "Karen, honey?" Mr. Walsh said.
"Karen go back to the family room," Kevin told her.
As she turned around to go, he stepfather said to her, "I love you honey, please come home with me."
This angered her. She pushed her way through the guys and walked up to confront her stepfather, none of the guys tried to pull her back, "Well, I don't love you... I can't go back to live with you..." The reporters were now drawing closer.
"Come on honey, these boys brainwashed you, they are just going to throw you on the side of the road when their finished with you." Mr. Walsh said.
"NO! These guys took me into their lives. You've wanted me to call you daddy, you've wanted me to love you, BUT that I couldn't do. You know why? Because..." Karen started to feel tears building. "..not because I was brainwashed, not because I didn't want to love you... but because of the way you treated my mother, I'm glad she's in a better place now where she can't be hurt by you. I miss her like hell, she trusted you to make her happy and me happy. But NO you took advantage of that..." Brian pulled her back. "Let me go, Brian." He obeyed. He knew he couldn't stop her now, no one could. Everyone backed away except for Brian and Nick, they stood right behind her just in case something were to happen. The media cameras kept flashing in their eyes, but the didn't care at that point, they were there to protect Karen. The others that were in the kitchen were now standing in the hallway watching her rage.
"Honey, you don't know what you're talking about? I loved your mother and you..." Mr. Walsh said insincerely.
"..No you're lying, if you loved my mother you wouldn't have abused her. If you loved me..." Karen choked. "..you wouldn't have raped me..."
Mr. Walsh looked around him. Everyone was silent. Cameras stopped flashing, reporters stopped talking. "You're lying... Karen, you are LYING! I am going to do everything in my will power to get you back to where you belong.." With that, he turned around and left.
Brian and Nick pulled Karen in and shut the door. The reporters backed away and slowly packed their things up. Kevin watched them do so. A.J. turned on the TV, there was still one reporter, "The story has turned. We have just witnessed the confrontation Mr. Walsh just recieved from his stepdaughter. Mr. Walsh accused the Backstreet Boys of brainwashing his daughter and kidnapping her. But it is obvious to us that she wants to stay with the boys." A guy came on to the screen and whispered into her ear. "This just coming in, Mr. Walsh has pulled the court ruling to this Friday. That is in 4 days. Right now, the story has been changed to rape and abuse, but Mr. Walsh is denying it. We will keep you up to date on the upcoming events. This is CKSN Television coming live from a home of the Backstreet Boys."
A.J. turned off the TV, "Wow, you got guts standing up for yourself like that, Karen."
"Yeah, hopefully now, this case will be leaning on your side," Theresa said.
"Karen why don't you go rest?" Brian suggested.
"No...I don't want to, I am too worked up..."
"Brian's right," Theresa said, "You need to rest up and calm yourself down..."
Karen looked at everyone else as they nodded their heads, "Okay..fine.."
"I'll be right up... I'm going to have a talk with everyone else."
"I'll take her up," Theresa offered.
"Thanks, Theresa." Brian said.
As the two headed up the stairs, Theresa said, "Nick told me that you guys broke up, he said that you and Brian belonged together..." she said softly. "Karen, he said he wants to be with me..."
"He did?" Karen said not surprised at all. "That's good, right? You liked him for so long. Go for it."
"You don't mind?" Theresa asked.
"No, I don't, Nick and I decided this would be for the best, he'll always be my first love, but Brian is my only love." Karen whispered.
"So you and Brian are together?" Theresa asked.
"No, we're going to try and take things slowly," Karen smiled. "Theresa, be happy with Nick, make him happy, he deserves happiness."
"It'll be hard to fill your shoes."
"Don't worry, you'll be just fine..."
"Thank you Karen, you're the best." Theresa said giving her a hug.
"Wait --" Karen said as she heard Brian talk to the others.
Meanwhile, Brian was giving everyone a pep talk. "Ok, I know we're going to be stuck in this place for the week, but we have to get through this together. I know our reputation is going down the drain from the lies and accusations Mr. Walsh has placed on us. But remember what we're all about.. we are to make people smile and happy, and that's what we're doing, we're helping a girl in need to make her smile and happy with her life." He looked around at all the eyes. "Guys, remember Charity from the Make - A - Wish foundation. We made her the happiest little girl alive, she was fighting cancer and she had a week left to live remember that? Well, after we visited her she lived longer than the doctors predicted... Well, we have to do the same for Karen, she needs us to help her survive this horror, this obstacle. She's lead a hard life and she needs us to make her strong and keep together." Brian finished and looked at everyone who was now full of life.
"God, Brian you sound like me!" Leigh Anne laughed.
"Yeah you sound like a bit of all of us." Nick said.
"Yeah, we told YOU those things.." A.J. said.
Everyone laughed. Brian blushed and turned around to head up the stairs. But there was Karen and Theresa standing there. She had heard it all. He really did love her. He cared so much for her that... Theresa went down the stairs and sat by Nick. Brian and Karen just looked at each other. Karen walked down the stairs and kissed Brian. "Thank you..." she whispered.
Everyone sat there watching. When they backed away from each other. Nick lead the group of "oohs" and "aahs." Brian smiled at everyone. "Well, I see you guys have nothing else better to do..." he said. "I'm going to take Karen to her room. She needs rest."
"Sure, Brian, you're not going to let her rest at all up there. Maybe I should supervise?" A.J. joked.
"Shut up, Bone!" Brian laughed. He took Karen's hand and they went upstairs.
"BE GOOD!" Amanda yelled out.
"Let's watch a movie," Nick suggested. He went into the rec room and grabbed, 'I Still Know What You Did Last Summer'. "Jennifer Love Hewitt is hot!" he grinned showing everyone his choce. Everyone agreed. They all went into the entertainment room which had a big projection screen and surround sound.
Seating arrangements were Theresa, Nick, Kevin and Howie on the long couch. A.J. and Amanda on the one person couch. Leigh Anne and Jordan on the floor by the couch. Dawn and Aaron on the stretch out couch. They turned on the movie and started to watch.
Dawn noticed the closeness of Nick and Theresa, 'What is going on???' She went back to the movie and laid in Aaron's arms.
