"We've known each other since we were babies. Our parents were close friends until her parents divorced." Christy said.
"Do you have anywhere to stay?" Howie asked.
"Yeah, I live with my parents, but their moving to LA. I'm not going with them, I'm moving in with my boyfriend." Christy said.
"Are you still going out with Jeff?" Karen asked.
"Yeah, and he knows all about Mr. Walsh, he tried calling the cops but I never let him... I was afraid to get killed. And Mr. Walsh threatened him as well." Christy explained. "He's been a great help. He never tried getting into the situation, but he was furious that he couldn't do anything since he knew his girlfriend was being raped. I told him about the law suit and he made me testify."
"I would be angry too," A.J. said. "If my Amanda was being raped, I would kill the culprit."
"No you wouldn't, cause then you'd go to jail and you'd never be able to see me again.." Amanda said.
"Oh yeah," he smiled. And they started kissing.
"Don't mind them, they're always like that." Brian said.
They spent a few more hours talking. When Christy got up, "I should get going.. I told Jeff I'd be at his place tonight.."
"I'll walk you out." Karen said.
"I have a question for you first," she said to Brian. "Aren't you guys from the Backstreet Boys?"
Nick smiled. "Why yes we are...."
"I thought so, you guys looked familiar.. Can I ask a favour?"
"Anything for Karen's friend.." Brian said.
"Can you sing for me?" Christy smiled.
"Will do!" Howie said. "But first we got to pull A.J. and Amanda apart."
Everyone laughed. "Whay do you want us to sing?" Kevin asked.
"How about... I'll Never Break Your Heart... I've always loved that song..." Christy said.
"Okay.." The five guys got up in front of the ladies and Jordan and Aaron and started the song.
"From the first day, that I saw your smiling face, honey I knew that we would be together forever..." A.J. sang.
"When I asked you out.. You said no but I found out... darling that'd you been hurt, you'll never fall in love again..." Brian sang.
"I'll never break your heart, I'll never make you cry, I'd rather die than live without YOU.." they all joined in.
They finished the song and everyone clapped. "Wow, that was wicked." Christy said. "Thanks. But I've really got to go before Jeff worries....Bye!"
Karen and Christy went out the door. "Karen, you're lucky to have these guys as your friends, they're really sweet."
"I know," Karen said. "Christy, can we hang out?"
"Of course, you're my best friend remember?"
"Yeah, but..."
"Karen, it was my fault I stopped talking to you.. I'm sorry about that, I didn't know how else to make him stop without hurting me or Jeff." Christy said starting to tear up.
"Christy.." Karen said giving her a hug. "You don't have to be sorry.. Let's just hope now the jury will decide to put him in jail..."
"Yeah, I should get going. Jeff is going to freak knowing I ran into you and that you know the Backstreet Boys..." Christy said about to leave. "Hey, is it true you went out with Nick Carter?"
"Yeah, why?"
"You are so lucky, he's hot!" Christy grinned. "But.. you and Brian seem to be close and why is Leigh Anne with Jordan Knight?"
"Leigh Anne and Brian broke up and Jordan is her boyfriend now, Brian and I are just friends..." Karen explained. 'I only wish we could be more than friends..' Karen hoped.
"Okay, well you know Jeff's phonenumber, give me a call some time and we'll do something, like old times." Christy suggested.
"I will.." Karen said as they embraced. Karen stood there as she watched her friend disappear into the darkness. "I'm glad I ran into her again... but.. I can't believe HE would do that to her...."
"But he's going to be put in jail..I promise you that." Brian said interrupting her as he wrapped his arms around her waist. Karen quickly turned around and embraced him.
"Brian, thank you for being there for me... you don't know how much it means to me.." Karen said.
"You know I'd do anything to keep you with me..." Brian whispered.
Karen looked up. The two stood there as they both leaned in for a kiss. As they backed away Karen whispered, "Brian, what if he gets away.."
"He won't, and if he does I'm going to do EVERYTHING in my will power to protect you from him..." Brian said holding her tighter. "Karen, you should go to bed, we've had a long day. Tomorrow will be an even bigger day..."
"Okay, but will you stay with me? You make me feel safer.." Karen asked sweetly.
"I was going to anyways.." Brian smiled. The two went inside the house and up the stairs without another word to anyone else.
Meanwhile, NIck and Theresa headed into the entertainment room and turned on a movie. This time Theresa got to pick, she chose 'Stepmom.' "Nick, this time we're going to watch this movie..." she joked.
"Well, if we're watching a chick flick, I don't think I want to watch.." he said kissing her neck.
"Nick, come on.. I heard this was a good movie.. watch it for me please?" she gave him the puppy dog look.
"Ok, how can I resist that look?" Nick laughed.
She turned on the movie, and sat comfortably in Nick's arms.
Moments later, she heard a sniffling, she turned to look at Nick, "Aww.. are you crying?" she teased.
"No," he sniffed.
"Ha ha, you are.." she laughed.
"NO!" he pressed.
"Aww. I think that's cute..." Theresa laughed.
"Cute?" Nick said looking at her.
"Yeah, CUTE!" Theresa repeated. "Aww, Nicky is crying."
"I hate being called Nicky," he said as he started to tickle her. "So now you must pay!"
Theresa started to giggle and squirm. Nick suddenly stopped, he remembered what happened when he was tickling Karen. "What? What's wrong?" Theresa said.
"No, I'm just scared you might kick me... cause last time I tried tickling Karen she kicked me in the crotch and damn was it ever a hard kick..."
"You still care for her don't you?" Theresa said seriously.
"I'm sorry Theresa, it's just.." Nick paused and looked at Theresa. "I'm sorry.."
"Nick don't worry I understand completely," Theresa said. "You and Karen were close..."
"Thank you for understanding..Theresa," Nick said quietly.
"Not a problem, Nicky.." she knew he didn't like to be called that but decided to tease him anyway. Nick pretended to be angry and started to poke her annoyingly as they laughed and giggled continuously.
They got back to their movie and again Theresa heard sniffling. "Damn, this movie got you good!" she teased. She looked at Nick and wiped away his tears. She looked at his puppy dog eyes, 'I love you..' she wanted to say.
Nick looked down on her and they started kissing. They ended up sprawled out on the couch as they started to kiss heavily. Theresa enjoyed the thought of kissing Nick, it was something she had wished for in a long time. But she couldn't believe that it was actually happening, she felt like she was in a dream.
As Nick's kisses went from her lips to her neck to her body. He slowly lifted her shirt up exposing her stomach and he slowly kissed it. Theresa's mind was racing. "Nick stop.." she said.
Nick stopped confused. "Did I do something wrong?"
"No, but I'm not ready for this.. I can take kissing but not this, not right now." she said. 'God, why am I so stupid, he wanted me, and I stopped him.' she thought to herself.
"I'm sorry I guess I was moving too fast." Nick said.
"It's okay Nick, I just don't want to do something I might regret, I'm only 16 and.."
"I understand.." he said. 'Man, what was I thinking she's not Karen, Karen was 18 and Theresa here is a little younger.. Karen's more experienced...' his mind kept telling him.
"Nick?" Theresa asked worried. 'Oh no, maybe he doesn't want to be with me anymore because..' her mind said. "Are you mad at me?"
"No, Theresa, I'm not, I..."
"Nick, you can still kiss me, just.." she said nervously.
"I know what you mean.." Nick said. "Let's just watch the movie."
For the rest of the movie, Theresa kept thinking about Nick, she was afraid he was disappointed that he couldn't do anything with her. Whereas Nick was afraid that Theresa was thinking he was just a horny musician. They sat through the movie quietly.
Out in the family room, everyone was sitting around talking. "Today was pretty intense huh?" Kevin said.
"Yeah, I thought Karen was going to explode..." A.J. said.
"She's a tough girl." Leigh Anne said.
"Yeah, that girl Christy surprised me though, I couldn't believe he would do that to her." Howie mentioned.
"Yeah what a bastard," Amanda commented.
"I hope we can all pull through this... just one more day.." Jordan said.
"I have a question..." Amanda said.
"What is it?" asked Kevin.
"Umm. now that the press and the fans know where you live, what are you going to do about that?" she said glancing out the window, "Because right now, there are tonnes of fans outside and are heading this way."
"Oh shit.." Howie said getting up. He went to lock all the doors and windows. A.J. shut the blinds as they all started to panick.
"Well, Amanda, good question, that completely slipped my mind... What are we going to do?"
"I think we should move.." Howie suggested. "We've always wanted to move closer to Nick and the lake...Maybe we should do that??"
"Yeah sounds good, we should go look into that after the court decision tomorrow." Kevin said. "But I think we should turn off all the lights and go to bed. Maybe these fans will go away." They all agreed and went to bed.
In Brian's room, "Karen, I need to get something out in the open."
"Yeah, what is it?" Karen said as she laid in his arms.
"I want us to be MORE than friends, but at first you were with Nick and I couldn't intrude on that and now this whole thing with your stepfather, but do you think...?"
Reading his mind, "Brian, we are MORE than friends. We're best friends, soulmates, and..." she was going to say 'lovers' but she knew she couldn't say it because they haven't done anything. "Right now, we just had a lot of things to deal with and when it's all over, I want to concentrate on OUR relationship and nothing else."
Brian smiled, "That was exactly what I wanted to hear." he said giving her a kiss on her forehead. "How'd you know what to say?"
"Well, I can read your mind remember... I know what you're thinking right now.." Karen said.
"What, Miss Smarty-Pants?" he teased.
"Well," she started. "You are thinking that I'm the most beautiful girl in the world and that you'd do anything to make me happy." she laughed.
"How'd you guess?" Brian said worried.
"I'm just good."
"Well, do you know what I'm thinking right now." he said.
"Hmm.. let me tap into my superpowers...you want me to kiss you.." Karen smiled. "Now that I can do.." She turned to face him and she caressed his face. She leaned in and gave him the kiss he wanted.
"You are good..." he smiled. Brian pulled her to lay on top of him. "Now, can I have another one?" he asked softly.
"Yeah, anything for you.." she whispered as she leaned in and gave him another kiss. 'This reminds me of the day at Nick's house, after we made love...' it flashed in her mind. 'But finally I'm with Brian... in his arms, I knew from the day I laid eyes on him that he was the one... but..' She continued to kiss him softly.
Brian caressed her back as they started to kiss heavily. Karen rolled back onto her back as Brian rolled along with her putting him on top of her. They continued to kiss as the phone rang. Brian didn't want to stop, "Kevin will pick it up.." he said between kisses. Then, there was a knock on his door.
"Brian, is Karen there with you?" yelled out a voice.
"Yeah," he said straightening himself out as he went to answer the door.
"The jury has come to a decision, they want us there at 9 am tomorrow morning." Kevin informed.
Brian looked at Karen in surprise. "Oh okay, thanks Kev." he shut the door and walked back to Karen, "That was a quick decision. I guess they knew their decision already."
"Brian, I want to win this case..."
"We all do.. now let's get some sleep.." he said.
He turned off the light and pulled Karen closely to him and Karen was so tired, she fell asleep instantly. Brian laid there quietly. He kissed her on the forehead and leaned in to whisper into her ear, "I love you..."
To his surprise she responded back. "I love you too Brian."
He smiled and slowly drifted away.
