Chapter 52

As Karen and Brian entered the family room they saw Jordan, Aaron, Nick and A.J. dancing crazily to the loud music. Everyone was sitting around watching them laughing, Brian saw this and went to join them. Karen walked over to the couch and sat by Leigh Anne. "These guys are crazy!!!" Karen laughed.

"Well get used to it," Leigh Anne smiled. "Their like this all the time."

Karen laughed, the five continued to dance crazily around the room. "We have a surprise for all of you," Kevin said.

"What? What is it?" Dawn asked.

"We'll be right back..." A.J. said. The five Backstreet Boys disappeared and came back 5 minutes later with microphones...

"Why what's this?" Theresa said.

"Since we have 4 new friends here...... Theresa, Dawn, Jordan and Karen...." Brian said. "We've decided to put on a private little show for y'all..."

"Something we owe you guys for treating us like normal people, PLUS, Louie said we should have started practicing a month ago.." Kevin explained.

"Yeah we've had so much fun with our new friends that we have forgotten, so.." Howie said.

"Alright let's begin..." Nick said turning on the music.

The boys sang a few songs from their first album, when it came to 'I'll Never BReak Your Heart', each guy took a girl and sang to them...Nick took Theresa, A.J. took Amanda, Howie took Dawn, Kevin took Leigh Anne and lastly Brian took Karen, they sang their hearts out as the girls smiled. They continued to sing songs for almost two hours. "Wow, this feels like an actual concert but this time we can actually hear the words..." Dawn commented.

"Yeah.." Theresa agreed her eyes still glued on Nick.

"And for our last song..." Brian said. "THE PERFECT FAN!!"

"It's usually dedicated to our moms, but this one is dedicated for OUR FRIENDS." A.J. said.

Brian started the song:

Everyone sat there listening to the gorgeous voices in front of them. Leigh Anne noticed that ever since the song started Karen and Brian's eyes haven't left each other. 'Those two are so cute... I'm glad Brian has her to make him happy...'

When they finished the song the boys bowed and everyone clapped loudly. Nick went to sit by Theresa and put his arm around her, "Well, what'd you think??"

"It was great, YOU were great.." Theresa grinned.

"Awww..." everyone chimed as they kissed each other.

Theresa and Nick blushed.

Brian sat down by Karen, no one knew the results of his surprise yet. He looked at Karen and grabbed her hand. Kevin took notice of this and asked, "So how'd your plan work, cuz?"

"Yeah, did you ask her?" A.J. said out loud.

Karen laughed and said, "Yes.. he did.. we are now officially going out.."

Everyone cheered. Howie walked into the living room with a bottle of champagne, "Well, there are some minors in here but I think we can make an exception to this grand occasion."

Kevin broke out the champagne glasses and Howie started to pour the champagne into the cups. A.J. eagerly passed out the drinks. A.J. stood up, "This is too the Backstreet Boys and their new family..."

Amanda got up, "...yeah to Theresa and Dawn for their new homes in Florida..."

Kevin stood, "To our new home..." Everyone looked at him, "We are moving next door to Nick...I checked it out today..."

Jordan stood up, "To winning the court case..."

Aaron stood up, "To happiness.."

Howie nodded with him and said, "...to friendship..."

Leigh Anne stood up, "..to Karen's new life..."

Theresa looked at Nick, "...to fun..."

Dawn smiled, "...to many more memories in the future..."

Karen joined in, "...to many more laughs and parties.."

"...AND TO LOVE!" Brian said looking at Karen.

"CHEERS!!!" Everyone yelled and took a sip of their champagne. Everyone laughed and sat down, now they could be a FAMILY with no more problems.

"Well, we have another surprise for all of you..." Howie said.

"Another one?" Karen said.

"Yes, we do," the 5 Backstreet Boys, Aaron and Jordan got up.

"Since all of us are now friends, we talked to Denise and Lou that..." Nick looked at Aaron and Jordan.

"..We're going to be the opening act for the Backstreet Boys.." Jordan and Aaron said at the same time.

"...AND since Karen is obliged to come with us through court orders, it's only fair if the rest of you girls come too.." Kevin said.

Dawn and Theresa looked at each other shocked. "Our parents aren't going to go for this.." Theresa said. "We have to go to school is what they'll say."

"Actually, Theresa, my love," Nick smiled. "Denise talked to your parents and they agreed to let you guys have a tutor while you're on tour with us, as long as you promise to study hard and get A's.."

"They did?" Dawn said.

"Yes..." Nick grinned.

"Oh my God, you guys aren't joking right?" Theresa yelled.

"Why would we?"

All the girls looked at each other and jumped for joy...

Theresa walked over to Karen, "We're going to have the time of our lives," she smiled and hugged her new friend, "I'm glad we worked things out and that you have given me the chance to be your friend after all I've done to you. This tour is going to bring us closer and we're going to be just like sisters, all of us," she said looking at the girls. "Thank you again for understanding and being you...." Theresa said with a tear in her eye.

Karen noticed this and said, "Thank you all for being by my side." And she reached out and gave Theresa a hug as everyone watched with tears glistening from their eyes.

"This is only the beginning of our lives...." Brian whispered to Karen as he held her hand tightly.

Their lives as a family were just beginning as they continued to move on in a positive direction. Karen thought to herself, 'Life is definately worth living.... I have everything I wanted: a family, friends and happiness...' She got back to the present and joined in the fun as everyone was celebrating their lives ahead of them.
