Chapter 7
"So what's your name?" Nick asked the girl. By now, she decided to give Nick a chance. But she couldn't trust him just yet.
"It's Karen and you?"
"Hi, I'm Nick Carter! It's my pleasure to meet you, Karen!" as he reached out to shake her hand. She smiled, something she hasn't done in a LONG time, and reached out to shake his hand. 'WOW, she has a beautiful smile, but why...no I can't cause it'll hurt her, I have to earn her trust first.' "So how old are you?" he decided to ask.
"I'm 18."
"Do you have any brothers or sisters?" he asked trying to get to know her better.
"No, I don't have any. What about you?"
"I have 3 sisters and one brother." he replied. "I'm sorry for running into you this morning. It was completely my fault. And I'm also sorry about A.J., he's pretty rude sometimes."
"That's okay, I'm alive aren't I?" she joked.
They continued their conversation until........
"Hey Nick, there you are." Dawn yelled from a distance. Nick and Karen quickly stood up. Karen looked at Theresa and Dawn questioningly, wanting to leave.
"Where's Brian?" asked Nick.
"Oh, he had to use the washroom." Theresa said looking at the filthy girl suspiciously.
"Oh, okay then. Well, this is Karen, the girl I accidentally ran into this morning, and I'm sorry again...." he said looking at her sweetly. "This is Theresa and Dawn. Where are you from again?"
"I'm from Tampa Bay," Karen replied. She kept looking around, finding a way to get out of there...then someone caught her attention. A gorgeous, and a sexy looking guy.
"Hey B-Rok, over here!" yelled Nick. To Karen's surprise, that good-looking guy was walking towards them.
"Hi, I'm Brian." he introduced himself. Karen stood there speechless and in awe. 'His voice is so soft, his eyes are so beautiful....' she thought.
Nick spoke up as he interrupted his thoughts. "This is Karen, she's from Tampa."
"Nice to meet you Karen." Brian said as he reached out to shake her hand. Karen looked at his hand.
"Don't worry, he doesn't bite," Nick laughed.
"Hi!" Karen said shyly. "Nice to meet you all."
Theresa feeling more jealousy arising, felt uncomfortable around Karen and Nick. "Umm..Dawn and I should be heading back to our hotel."
"Yeah it's getting kind of late." Dawn agreed.
"Well, my car's still at your house Nick." Theresa said.
"Yeah, we should get going too." suggested Brian.
"Yeah!" Nick agreed. Then looked over at Karen. "Do you want to come with us?"
"Um...no..I have to...um..go home." Karen mumbled.
"Oh, okay, do you have a number where we could reach you?"
"Um...yes..I mean, no...I forgot my phone is out of order."
"Well, I'll give you mine then," Nick suggested. He wrote it down on a piece of paper and gave it to her. Karen just looked at it and shoved it in her pocket. "Give me a call as soon as you can, alright?" He winked at her with a huge grin. He leaned over and whispered in her ear, "It was nice meeting you and thanks for talking to me. I hope we meet up again." Karen smiled.
Brian saw her smile, 'What a beautiful smile. But...I'll ask Nick later!' Karen saw Brian looking at her and he quickly turned away.
"Yeah well I better go now!" Karen said quickly. And ran off before anyone could say bye.
'Wow, Brian is quite handsome,' she thought to herself. 'But he'd never go for a dirty bitch like me. I'm only dreaming, I'm a worthless piece of shit, why did God ever put me on this planet? I'm just a waste of air.'
Meanwhile, in Brian's jeep, the four were heading back to Nick's house.
"Well, what an interesting day we had." Dawn said.
"I agree." Theresa included.
"Yeah it was fun and adventurous." NIck said.
"Yeah adventurous for you. So what's up with that girl, Nick?" asked Brian slyly. "Are you interested or something?"
"Shut up, Bri. I'm only trying to be her friend. I just felt bad for plowing her over earlier and I want to help her out. There's something about her that pulls me towards her and wanting to do that." Nick explained.
Theresa was sitting in the back seat with Dawn quietly, wanting to get out of there as soon as she could. She couldn't stand hearing about this girl again. Even though she didn't know the girl, she hated her already.
Dawn looked at Theresa, 'She really does like Nick, doesn't she? Just look at her, she's been like this ever since we ran into that girl again. Damn that girl.'
"Why are you two so quiet back there?" asked Brian.
"Just tired, it's been a long day." replied Dawn knowing that that wasn't true at all.
The whole ride back to Nick's house was in total silence.
