Joe
Moretti had been a member of Vince Taylor's Playboys, and featured on
their best-known record "Brand New Cadillac". After his short recording stint
with the Pirates Moretti went on to play lead guitar on Nero and the
Gladiators chart debut "In The Hall Of The Mountain King" / "The
Trek To Rome" on Decca. He went on to much successful session work, including
notable sides by Jet Harris & Tony Meehan and the twangy lead
guitar on Tom Jones' no1 smash "It's Not Unusual", plus a
plethora of others. The writer of the latter number mentioned was Gordon Mills, manager of both Jones and Kidd. I
wonder what that number would have sounded like in the hands of the
"Admiral of Beat"? |

(E) (E) (E) Well I would never have kissed
I would never be like this
If it hadn't been for that old magic called love
We-ll the pain in my heart
That I feel when I'm apart
That's a trick of that old magic called love
Well, you make me feel this way
I just can't wait all day
You're tearin' out my heart
And baby how did the whole thing start
There, will come a day
When it passes your way
That's a trick of that old magic called love
(instrumental break)
You make me feel this way
I just can't wait all day
You're tearin' out my heart
And baby how did the whole thing start
There, will come a day
When it passes your way
Well you can miss that old magic called love
Well, kisses, and the moonlight, that's love
Hmm, that's magic, and it's kisses, it's love
