Originally
released on Rarities"
in its virginal state. The ending finishes abruptly as if everyone had
forgotten the plan, and Kidd saying something like "Didn't time the ending!" The
original paperwork contains written notes as to how the song should be
edited for final mastering, but this wasn't carried out at the time when the projected
LP was cancelled. It was carried out however for inclusion on the
"Complete" CD, enabling listeners to
evaluate how the completed master would have originally sounded. |

Ahh-ahah-ahaaah
A little bit of soap will wash away
Your lipstick from my face
A little bit of soap will never
Never never never erase
The pain in my heart and my eyes
As I go through the lonely years
A little bit of soap will never wash away my tears
A little bit of soap will wash away
Your powder from my chin
A little bit of soap will never
Never never never begin
To take away the hurt that I feel
As I go through the lonely years
A little bit of soap will never wash away my tears
Oh have you heard how love begins to die
Reasons wonder why that they
Like a bird you look to rob the nest
Just like all the rest you fly away
Oh a little bit of soap will wash away
Your perfume reminding you to me
A little bit of soap will never
Wash away the memory
Of your name in the night
That I call through these lonely years
A little bit of soap will never wash away my tears
Oh let me tell you baby, tell you of the night
As I call through the lonely years
A little bit of soap will never wash away my tears
Oh let me tell you baby, that your name
I call through the lonely years
A little bit of soap will never wash away my tears |
