As Zac sat and cried, he couldn't help think about what was to come. Ellie was leaving, and he would be alone. Again. Slowly, he wiped away the tears and took a deep breath. He looked around him. They were all watching with concerned looks on their faces.
"Heh. It'll all be fine. It'll all be fine." he said with mock convincingness.
He didn't even convince himself. With another deep breath, he got up and trudged to his backpack, which lay undisturbed near the door. With a quick tug at the zipper, the bag opened. Zac reached in and grabbed a worn blue notebook and a pen. He closed the bag and walked over to the couch, where he plopped down and started writing.
"Ellie, even though I know you're leaving..."
"No no no" he thought and quickly scratched that out.
"You're in my mind all the time, I can't help myself. Everything I see, I see you. You're the best thing in my life, and I don't want to lose you. I'll never forget you, I promise you that. Please don't forget me. We'll be friends forever, and we'll see each other again, I promise. Just don't lose hope. Before you leave, stop by. I need to see you one more time."
Zac looked at what he had written and nodded. He quickly ripped out the note and closed the notebook and put it back in his backpack. He rejoined the group, who was just getting into watching Scream. His thoughts kept going to Ellie, he couldn't help it. He forced himself to watch the movie and soon found himself thinking again. With a sigh, he got up and quietly walked out the door. It had begun to rain, but just a sprinkle. Brushing his hair out of his face, he walked down the road. The only light was the street lamp that gave off an eerie glow. The only sound was the sound of raindrops hitting the cold pavement and the sound of his shoes scraping against that same wet pavement. As he rounded the corner, a car approached. He stepped to the side of the road, so not to get wet. The headlights lit up his face and wet hair. The driver slowed, and rolled down the window. It was August's dad.
"Hey bud, need a ride?"
Zac smiled glumly.
"No, thanks"
"Ok, suit yourself, but get inside soon. Ok son?"
Zac nodded and the car drove away. He quickly looked down the street and jogged across. As he approached Ellie's house, he could see a light in the upstairs bedroom. He noticed a tree and quietly got on the closest branch. The curtains on the room were closed. He could see the shadow of a girl through the curtains. He hopped off the branch and found a pebble. He threw it at the window. He missed. He found another and threw it. This time, he was successful. The curtains were pulled back, and Ellie popped her head out. When she saw Zac, she popped her head inside the window quickly.
"Oh no!" she thought. "What should I do!?"
Quickly, she looked at her image in the mirror. Her face was tear stained and tired. Her hair was a mess and her clothes were rumpled. She heard another pebble hit the window. With a deep breath, she quietly ran out of her room and down the stairs to the back door. Even more quietly, she opened the door and snuck out. She ended up behind Zac.
"Zac." she whispered hoarsely.
He turned around, startled. When he saw her, he walked over and wrapped his arms around her and held her tight. She slowly hugged him back and rested her head on his shoulder. Finally, she began to cry. Feeling her shaking, Zac only held tighter. He let her cry into his shoulder without a word. He stroked her hair and rocked her silently. Silence was the best thing right now. He slipped the note from his pocket into the pocket of her jacket silently. He rubbed her back to calm her down a little. Slowly, she raised her head from his shoulders and looked him in the eyes. She leaned her head in and their lips touched. A tingle went through Zac's body. Ellie hadn't even left, but he already missed her. He never wanted to let her go. Once their lips parted, Zac stood, holding Ellie for another ten or so minutes. He didn't want to let go.

Taylor jumped. The killer had just popped into the screen. He had seen this movie so many times before, and even though he knew it was coming, he still jumped. August tilted her head to him and smiled. He wrapped his arms tighter around her and rested his head on her shoulder. He glanced around, not seeing Zac.
"Hey, wheres Zac?" he whispered in August's ear.
August looked around and shrugged.
"I thought I saw him awhile ago, but he may have left. I saw him writing some stuff. Maybe it was to Ellie."
"Yea, probably, but I still want to know where he is."
"Tay, relax, he can take care of himself, I'm sure he's fine."
Taylor nodded and continued to watch the movie.

As they stood there, rain started to pour from the sky even harder that it already was. Ellie started shivering, and Zac held her tight and rocked her back and forth. His face was matted to his forehead and neck and his clothes were sticking to his body like glue. He didn't care. He was with Ellie and this might be the last time they spent together. He opened his eyes and looked around. A light had come on in the house. Zac tapped Ellie and she turned her head. Her eyes widened as the door opened and Brad came out. She let out a sigh of relief as she realized it was Brad. He stood there for a minute and then walked out to them.
"Elle, you gotta come inside, its late and you're gonna get sick."
Ellie nodded.
"Zac, you too, I don't want you getting sick either. You need to stay healthy so you can deal with all those screaming girls." he said with a grin.
Zac smiled and looked at the ground. He gave Ellie one last hug and she broke away from his embrace. Brad put his arm around her and lead her inside. She glanced back once, and began to cry again. Zac swallowed hard to keep himself from joining her. He took a deep breath as they walked inside and the door closed. The light went off and he was still standing there. He sighed and put his head down and trudged away. His heart was breaking.
