"Hey" said Taylor quietly as he entered August's hospital room.
"Hi Tay, Hi Zac, Hi Lindsay"
"Hi" replied Zac and Lindsay simultaneously
"So...when do I get to go home?" asked August, a look of desperation crossing her slightly tanned face.
"Well," began Taylor "my parents are on their way here, and they have to sign some papers, and then we can go home. How are you feeling?"
"Ok. They won't be mad, will they?" a worried expression replaced the desperate one.
"No!" Taylor blushed "No, they can't be mad at you, it wasn't your fault."
August smiled at Taylor. His cheeks faded and he sat down in the chair next to her bed. He looked at her. She had a cast on her ankle, and an Ace bandage on her wrist. He could see some crutches leaning against the wall.
"Great way to start off the day ‘eh?" joked August, noticing Taylor looking at her wounds.
"Yea" he blushed.
Suddenly, the door burst open and in came a worried Diana with an exhausted Isaac in tow.
"Honey, are you ok!? How did this happen?" exclaimed Diana. She rushed over to August's bed and hugged her. "I'm glad you're alright"
"Thank Diana"
"Don't worry about it hon"
"I'm fine, I guess. My ankle hurts, and my wrist is bothering me a little. But otherwise, I'm fine, don't worry. I was being chased."
"Chased? By who?"
"Uh, the Scream Squad Mom" coughed Zac.
"The fans did this?"
"Um, yea."
"Sometimes those girls can get a little to rough." she sighed.
"Oh! Pardon me for my rudeness! I don't believe we've met."
She smiled and introduced herself to Lindsay. They began to chat, and the doctor entered with his clipboard, some papers, and his daughter's CD.
"Ah, Mrs. Hanson, nice to see you again. From what I hear, your sons here are very talented."
"Yes, doctor, I believe they are." She smiled at the doctor and then at the boys.
"Mrs. Hanson, I'll need you to fill out some papers for me, and then August will be free to go."
Mrs. Hanson nodded and took the papers from him. She sat down next to August and began filling out the papers. The doctor took this opportunity to get the boys' autographs for his daughter.
"Thank You boys"
"You're very welcome sir" replied Isaac, smiling to reveal his braces.
"Alright doctor, I believe I'm finished with these papers" smiled Diana
The doctor quickly looked over the papers and nodded.
"Thank you everyone. August, You'll need to stay on the crutches for about a week. You can take the aircast and the wrap off after the week is up. You sprained it pretty badly. I've prescribed some medication for you to take. I need you to take some at every meal. As far as your wrist, you can take the wrap off when you feel that it is better. You are free to leave. I wish you all luck in the future." He waved and walked out of the room.
Taylor and Isaac carefully helped August off the bed. She reached for her crutches, and they left the room. Isaac took Taylor, Zac, August and Lindsay in the van, and Mrs. Hanson took the jeep home.
"Lindsay, where do you live?" asked Isaac
"On Maple Street, next to the pool"
"Alright, I'll drop you off there on our way back, ok?"
Lindsay nodded and they started off on their way.
After dropping Lindsay off, the Hansons and August arrived home. Taylor helped August out of the van and they headed inside. Once inside, August was introduced to the rest of the family. Jessica, who said she was nine, had blonde hair about to her shoulders and bright blue eyes, about the same as Taylor's. Avery, who was six, was a smaller version of Jessica. Her hair was a little past her shoulders, and she had a shy smile on her face. The youngest, Mackenzie, was basically a smaller version of Zac, with some differences. He had blonde hair to about his ears, and big blue eyes. He was 3, and was extremely cute. He ran over to August when he saw her.
"Wha happun?" he asked.
"I fell." August replied
"I sowwy" he said, with a sincere look of seriousness.
"Its ok." she smiled.
He smiled really big and ran off. August laughed as she saw him waddling off. "He's so cute!" she thought. She smiled.
"Ok, what do we want to do?" asked Zac
"Dunno" came three responses
"Uh, ok. How bout we watch TV?"
"Fine with me!" said August. Taylor and Isaac agreed.
The boys rushed up the stairs and to their room. August watched them hurry up the stairs with an amused look on her face. All of the sudden, Taylor stopped and walked back down the stairs.
"Sorry." he blushed.
"Ah, don't worry about it! Just help me!" she gave him a pitiful look which made him burst into laughter.
"Ok. What do you want me to do?"
"Help me up the stairs?"
"Alright. How?"
"Um, could I hold onto you and hop up?"
"Sure"
"Ok, thank you sooo much!!"
"Hey, what are friends for?"
"Well, if that's what friends are for, then you are a very good friend Tay."
He blushed, "Thanks"
"No problem"
Taylor reached out his hand and she gladly took it. She slowly hopped up the stairs with Taylor's help. Once they reached the top of the stairs, she looked around.
"Um, Tay?"
"Yea?"
"I kinda need my crutches"
"Oh yea, I'll be right back"
With that, he jumped back down the stairs and returned carrying the crutches.
"There you go m'lady" he smiled
"Thank you very much m'lord"
They glanced at each other and burst out laughing. Slowly, they made their way to the boys' room, where Isaac and Zac were waiting patiently on the floor.
"What took you so long?" asked Isaac, looking at them suspiciously
"August needed help up the stairs, so I helped her." replied Taylor matter-of-factly.
"Yea, that's what they all say..." snickered Zac.
"Shut up Zac" came the reply.
Taylor helped August over to his bed, where he grabbed some extra pillows and placed them at the end of the bed for August to put her ankle on. She smiled at him as she gladly sat down. Taylor took his place on Zac trundle bed, and they settled back to watch TV.
